Yes, he is.
He was the TS for Men earlier today too. He called Women competition at Lombardia Trophy last week.
Judging a competition in which McKay is in could be in conflict with the ISU Code of Ethics (potential conflict on interests). Even if IIRC I once saw a B event in which the technical specialist choreographed the program of one of the competitors finishing almost at the bottom of the standings.
However, he can theoretically serving in panels for events in which McKay's "indirect" "rivals" are skating. And it happened in the past, for instance, situations like technical specialist X is relative of US Skater Y and serves at TS at Europeans (or relative of Euro skater Y and serves at TS at 4CCs). At Euros (or 4CCs) there were skaters who were more or less at the same levels of the TS's relative/pupil and their result there could have helped (or not) boosting their reputation (yes, I know, it shouldn't matter....).
Thanks for detailed explanation. Very useful :)

after seeing Camille i wish i were as drunk ans @balabam right now
balabam is now after half-sleep almost sober. So you really want to be that sober at this time of the day? :D
But I know that my drunken predictions about early winners were Efimova - Blommeart were not right, but almost right. Drunkers are every time almost right :D

Lovig it so far, just wish Osipova/Epstein and Zukova/Bidar were a bit higher. But there's always the FS.
Love ya and leave ya xxx

The first three pairs were nice to watch. Super skates.

Germany is back at the pairs. Maybe we see the first non-Ajona medal at euros for Germany after a long time.
Why not - Europe's finest won't be there - Everyone can have a stab at it. And both German teams tonight are strongly connected to my fav Russian coaches, so, yeah, I'll be routing for them.
