I'm fascinated to find out who will get the host spots.

Over in the NRW Trophy thread, I was talking about the Lindfors siblings, and commenting about it being curious that Matias was skating in Dortmund, while Fanny was skating in Tallinn. And I was wondering where Viveca was. Is she maybe in Espoo watching the GP? And I was speculating whether she might get a spot in the Gala.

But, personally, if a retired skater was to get one of the slots, I would prefer it to be Laura Lepistö. After all, she is an Espoo girl. It would be a great honour for her to take part in a Senior GP in her home town, 10 years after she retired. And it would go down well with the local fans.

Whatever happens, I certainly hope that Jenni Saarinen gets a Gala slot. Performing in the Gala of a Senior GP at her home rink would be a fitting send off to her career.

Still struggling to process that this is her swansong.

I saw the list in Mai's instagram but did not see the names, it went so fast and my phone is small to see. If they asked me, I would invite Milania abd Filippo, the new pair.

Mmmm. So only a Synchro team has got a host spot. Very disappointed. I've seen Galas where 2 or 3 local skaters / partnerships that were not competing in the event got to perform.

But, at least Jenni has a slot. As have all the other Finnish skaters that competed in the GP.

I wonder if there will be any cameos in the Finale...

Local fed really puts synchro everywhere. To be honest I am already a little bit bored to it. But it is popular here.

I will certainly miss it... because well.. Davis cup, FIFA world cup... and too much work... BUT I love the line up of this gala... If i had had to pick it myself, I probably would have ended up with this exact same line up I hope it is as entertaining for fans as it is on paper.

This was a good event to watch.. strangely enough, i was able to watch most of it...which is uncanny for events in Europe with the kind of time difference I have to deal with... anyways !!!
