Nats decide Worlds entries and is one of the criteria for National Team and Olympic selections. The competition will be held without an audience, whether a livestream will be provided or not is yet to be announced.

National Team and Olympic Team members are decided by combining the results of Nats and the Ranking Competition. For the National Team, the main team consists of 8 women and 4 men and the reserve team 9 women and 3 men. For the Olympic Team, the top 2 men and women from the National Team will be chosen.

As always the distinction between seniors and juniors is domestic, i.e. not taking age into account. Non age-eligible domestic seniors will be marked with a *.

All times are in KST, +9 UTC.

There is probably no such disproportion in any country in number of girls and boys in junior division (33 vs. 3). Why is figure skating so unpopular among boys in South Korea? Has Yuna become a role model for girls only?

@Ichatdelune Awesome post with the starting orders and the explanation. One last favour 🙏🏽

Is there a link you can send me to regarding the results of the Ranking event? I like to post the top 16 scores and then, when the National event is on, I like to enter in the Nationals score to combine the totals to determine who made National Team and Olympic Team.

There isn't a link because KSU is backwards and incompetent, but here are the top 16 scores for women and the scores for men of the Ranking Competition copied from the PDF file. Meanwhile I promise I'll make updates on National Team (main and reserve) and Olympic Team updates as soon as possible :)

I'd absolutely love to have more male skaters (Sunghoon's loss is still a sore subject among Korean fans) so I'd like to know why too, but if I had to make a guess it's probably because figure skating is considered "ballet on ice" and there is a stigma that ballet is a feminine activity still here.

I was sure that huge popularity of k-pop male groups changed the attitude that dancing and having fancy costume is something for girls and women only... If you are right, I can only hope that this perception of figure skating will eventually change. South Korea has such talented skaters, it's a pity that there aren't more male stars like Jun-hwan among them...

SPOTV (the Korean channel that broadcasted the Ranking Competition last year) is partially broadcasting Nats, presumably the last group(s) of the seniors. Since you need a Korean phone number to register and watch the broadcast I'll be streaming it via Zoom. (Forgive me on that, I got struck down on copyright on KakaoTV :tantrum: ) The link will be shared when the broadcast starts, and the rest I presume will be streamed on Youtube. Will provide links when they appear.

Bless you Ichat, you are a lifesaver. Hoping for a better free for Jun and event for Yeonjeong compared to the ranking event.

Will your zoom stream archive? Unfortunately the later groups will be overnight for me. :(

If not I should be able to find the videos on the blog?

Back from lunch and ready to see the upcoming (domestic) juniors, it's exciting to presume who will get their 7th levels come march and be eligible for JGP selections

That 3T-2T from Eun looked quite like a 3T-3T that failed, I've been keeping an eye on her and this is quite interesting news
