Thank you for saying that, because I hadn't noticed that it was Léa SERNA that had got the French slot at Worlds. Yes, if Maé-Bérénice is retiring, I too would have hoped to see her. Even if it is just in one of the local skater slots in the Gala at Worlds.

As for Nikolaj, I suppose he is taking a bit of a rest before Worlds.

And on that note, I have to say that I'm amazed that Oona is here, considering that she was skating in the Netherlands just 4 days ago.

We find out now if she is tired.

Yes, Oona was tired we as we saw and I was also wondering why she was here. She has good enough TES scores already for next year so she needs not to hunt them. I haven't seen her do so major errors for a long time. She is one of my favourites of the Finns, just because of being late bloomer.

I have time to watch women so here I am. It is a pity no that Mae-Berenice (and Nikolaj Majorov) had withdrawn. It would have been so nice to see Mae-Berenice at least once, before she retires. Has she been talking about it?

Maé luckily has no plans of retiring yet! She wrote about the withdawal on her instagram:

I was looking forward to this week, to announce that finally I’m back on a competitive ice. But some minor complications arose while getting ready for the Tallinn Cup, so after discussing with the federation, we thought it was best for me to withdraw. A (frustrating) set up (yes I said SET UP, because it’s getting me ready for a bigger step ), and I know it’s for the best. Lucky and thankful to be surrounded by an amazing team that is taking such good care of me, so I can be 100% functional for my next planned competition

And that resurfacing marks the end of the ISU competitions for the day. Now we have the first of the Interclub competitions. And I have to admit, I have no idea what ages of skater this level is for.

Oh, come on! They kept the last girl waiting very long. She was in position with her arm up in the air, and it inevitably got sore, so she had to put it down momentarily, and then up again.

Then she went for an extra warm-up, and the music started!

Thankfully they stopped the music and let her get into position again. But, then they kept her waiting again!

Understandably, it was a bit of a messy skate. But, she won!!!

That said, the entire field was covered by 1.48 points.

By the way, they put the age up for one of the skaters (but only one of them). She was 13. And the other skaters looked to be around the same age (give or take a year or two).

So, it looks like this level is an alternative to Novice level.

Right. We've just had the "Young" skaters, so now it is time for the "Pre-Young" skaters (where on Earth do they get these names out of?!) This is a combined segment, with a group of 5 girls followed by a group of 4 girls and 1 boy.

But, I will be leaving at quarter past for food. I'll pause the stream, and hope that it will survive long enough for me to be able to finish watching the segment.

Nope, the stream died as soon as I pressed play.

But, two of the girls that I saw had ages put up on screen. One was 9 and the other was 10. So, I'm guessing that this an alternative to either Chicks or Cubs (sorry, I can never remember which of these levels comes directly before Novice level).
