On the technical side of Alina's skating in IdF, the jumps maybe not the best this time, but I think the spins were better than in test skates and JO.

In SP I think she was for a fraction of a second behind her music or at least how it looked to me. You can notice it in the small steps on toes that she does during the step sequence by hitting the guitar notes. This time they were not aligned so well. Bytheway this is one of my best moments in the program and it's also a factor of the choreographical complexity of it, and the precision in execution that it needs.

In FS because of the deduction (absurd) she received she was cautious and the opposite effect was created, she was a bit ahead of the music. This affected a bit the timing in the execution of the spiral and the step sequence.

Next time all these, jumps included, will be fixed and the result will be a lot better.

I agree, after all, this is only the beginning of the season. IdF was Alina's very first competition, so these are all details that will be polished.

I was just rewatching Me Voy, while working on subtitles for the spanish tdp commentary and I must say, the raw emotion and intensity of Yasmin's words and singing, together with Alina's interpretation are just perfectly in harmony.

It's definitely my favorite SP of the season and it's going to become another masterpiece in Alina's career

To be honest, it's her favorite program of mine that she's ever done :luv17: but we still need to see it performed to perfection, which we know she can but I would say it didn't happen in IdF (and I think Alina will agree:biggrin:). Probably my favorite aspect is her interpretation of the lyrics/mood of the song.

Btw, I still have no idea what the hell the judges saw when they called the time deduction... She puts her hand down as the last guitar chord plays, not after...

I just hope it doesn't happen again, because it was totally undeserved [sigh]

I have a feeling Alina will make sure it doesn't happen again!

I trust that Eteri will know what to do to make sure they can't do it again ;)

I understand how you say it, but I don't think Eteri has such powers. Of course, they will work on all aspects of Alina's skating and they will try to improve. The rest is out of reach.

What I meant is just that they will maybe slightly change the final pose to avoid any confusion... Small adjustments like this could make a difference.

Eteri is great at strategic planning to be one step ahead of the judges, highlight the good things her skaters do and hide any possible mistakes.

The rest is, of course, up to the judges.

The 2018 Olympic figure skating champion, Russian Alina Zagitova, has radically changed on the ice in terms of the awareness of performances and moral peace, Honored Trainer of Russia Inna Goncharenko told RIA Novosti.

“She rides so consciously that one can only greet. It’s difficult to achieve success for so long. And this is important. I really liked her at the Grand Prix stage in France precisely because of this very awareness. It was clear from her that she used to freak out "There were breakdowns, the jerking came out onto the ice. And now she is completely different, and I like the way she looks. Physically, she is in good shape and, as for brains, she is confidently performing. Well done girl!" - Goncharenko said by phone. ⠀

Inna Goncharenko is a ray of sunshine. She’s always honest and straightforward, one thing people can’t blame her for is having any biases. Considering that, hearing her praises towards Alina is twice as sweet!

I wonder what she is shooting! I'm very happy she's getting all of these opportunities though :).

I'm happy that we are getting to see so much of her! Thanks to team Zagitova and others. I think the next event is Nov. 12th - the Glamour Woman of the Year that Alina is invited to. Hopefully she wins for athlete of the year! :)
