Andrei Sergeevich Anisimov (Russian: Андрей Сергеевич Анисимов) is a Russian figure skater competing in men’s singles. He was born on 21 June 2004 in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
He is the 2021 Russian National Novice Champion (elder age), the 2022 Moscow Champion, a multiple winner and medallist of the Cup of Russia stages, and JGP participant.
Andrei currently trains in Moscow at SSHOR Moskvich in the group of Viktoria Butsaeva.

Andrei first caught my eye last year when he skated his SP to Masquerade at the Junior Cup of Russia. It was such a great program for him, a shame that he never got to compete it at the international stage due to the unfortunate 2020/21 season.



Andrei is a lovely performer with currently two different quads (4S, 4T) in his arsenal and beautiful lines and positions. I don't know quite how else to put it, but his skating fills the whole rink, he skates like he belongs there.
He is also a friend of cats. From his interview with Московский фигурист:
What can't you do without for a day? Andrei: Petting the cat. 😸

Today Andrei skated his SP at the Junior Russian Cup Final, presumably his last major competition this season. It was an almost flawless performance which put him into 4th in the preliminary standings. Good luck tomorrow for the free! 🍀

Andrei got invited to skate in his first(?) show!
I spotted him (centre back, next to Katsalapov) by chance on one of Ira Sharova's pictures from the Lovers of Figure Skating show on April 1st. Nikita Mikhailov choreographed the opening group number in which Andrei performed together with Murashov and Shelyakin, if my eyes don't deceive me. The lighting in the video is quite bad, so it's difficult to make him out, but from time to time a really tall guy glides through the frame. :laugh:

There couldn't have been a better start to the season than seeing Andrei's beautiful new programs. 😻

I can't believe that he chose music from Tanz der Vampire for his FS. This was one of the most popular musicals ever produced in Vienna. Roman Polanski himself directed and the whole production was brilliant. I loved that musical as a kid and I remember a time when all I ever asked for as a birthday or Christmas present was a trip to Vienna to watch it. I must have seen it live five or six times. :LOL:
And now I find out that the production was taken to St. Petersburg and Moscow and that a whole hitherto undiscovered Russian language version of my favourite musical exists. Guess what's been playing over the stereo for the last hours. :LOL: Here is the song Andrei is using in his program Gott ist tot/Бог забыт.

So yes, I am already madly in love with this vampire themed FS. It would be so funny too if he just kept the Moskvich lucky shirt for it - imo, it fits the theme well. My only minor criticism would be that they should get rid of the voice-over in the beginning. The line about "you my love would be darker than sin" just makes me snicker, it disturbs the atmosphere of the program a bit. But once that's done the program is perfection. Can't wait to see it with three clean quads. 😻

ETA: Lol, I'm having so much fun with the Vampire music right now. 🦇 Translation of the Russian lyrics Andrei is skating to:

That reminds me - remember last year at JGP Krasnoyarsk when the funky camerawork made everyone look washed out? In the competition thread someone mentioned Andrei had a passing resemblance to Edward Cullen... Must have been a omen (or creative inspiration) 😆

Haha, I remember. It was Andrei and Egor Rukhin - the boys who didn't know they were really vampires. Obviously Andrei knew after all. :laugh:

Moskvich really outdid themselves with the program selection this year. I don't know what should ever be able to beat the epic combination of Count Andrei Vronsky in the short and Gothic Vampire Andrei in the free.

It was amazing! Fantastic music, some laugh-out-loud funny moments, and an ending that subverted expectations before it became fashionable.
