Any reason why Figure Skating is more popular among Asian Americans? Michelle Kwan effect or simply those with Asian heritage are more likely to have talent / natural predispositions??

Asian Americans have good attitude in practice and training. They're very motivated.

As an Asian-American - In the US asians often have upper middle class incomes so they can afford it (that's also why there are so many white people in skating too), it's one of the few sports that gives an advantage to the short and athletic, and of course the crazy parents

There are so many Asians in skating (disproportionate to their lower numbers in the general population) that there has never been a "de-surgence" of Asians in skating. Maybe there wasn't a lady or a man on top of the nationals podium in a while, but that's it. Look at singles rosters at nationals and of all levels almost half of the competitors are Asian.
