I think Sasha's is the very best of all Romeo & Juliet programs. What a shame is that she couldn't make a clean program with it at Turin.

I think Sasha is the very best of all Romeo & Juliet programs. What a shame is that she couldn't make a clean program with it at Turin.

Yes it is a pity but at least both mistakes were in the first 30 seconds of the program and the rest was so good, performance wise Sasha skated there better that at the Nationals where she didn't fall but the program was flat compared to Turin. In the words of the commentator: 'Others skate to R&J but Sasha IS Juliet'

However, to answer the thread title: the best R&J program is no R&J program.
To skaters & choreographers, I beg you, could you please stop beating this horse there is a wealth of unused music out there if only you care to open you ears & eyes
What is so special about the story anyway - they met they fell in love they died on the same day... is it a story worth telling us a season after season?
To ISU: a special 2 year ban on R&J please

Not with that horrendously cut program, she won't. Team Tutberidze is in dire need of someone who can choreograph a FP.

For me Sasha without question. Her skate set for me a standard of how R&J program should be. Honorary mention for Anastasia Gubanova - her R&J skate was extremely memorable for me. Probably even more than Yuzuru's 2012 program.

Ilia Kulik 1996/1997 FS. A beauty. Sadly that season his jumps were not very consistent (or his nerves got him). But what a beautiful program!

Missing from the Craig Armstrong list Barbara Fusar Poli and Maurizio Margaglio and their 2000-1 FS. I suspect this was the the first in that list, but am not 100% sure. I have a faint recollection of a motorbike imitation?

I have apparently no preferences here - cannot really remember any of those R&J programs. The above I recall vaguely bcs it was made to the new(ish) soundtrack and because the choreo was fairly awful. Anastasia Gubanova has stuck in my mind from the more recent years, not so much because of the choreo or music choice but because of her captivating movement.
