Hi all!
I am an adult skater who returned after a 15-year break (skated a year when I was a kid). I've been back for just under 5 months and I progressed a lot more quickly than I thought, I'm now working on singles and have reached Adult Silver MITF. The problem is, my skates suck! I got poorly fitted, so my skates are at least a half size too big, and on top of that, they're Edea Overtures, so they are a little too flimsy for the work I'm putting them through nowadays. I'm heading into a daily academy program in November so I need new boots (no blade recs needed, I'm sticking to Coronation Aces).
I like my Edeas aside from the sizing problem, so I'm not against staying in the brand. I would love recommendations for my level in other brands though since I know a lot less about them. I'm getting fitted on Thursday, but I want to go in with some ideas. What recommendation do you have for an advanced beginner/intermediate adult skater?
Height: 5'8/176cm
Weight: 125 lbs/57 kg
Foot type: "Greek" (second toe longer than big toe)
Width: average at the toes, narrower in the heel
Arch: normal, no issues
Foot/ankle concerns: none (ankles are pretty strong from distance and trail running)
Thank you so much in advance!
