I mean it when I said I don't dislike him. I just find his behavior to be very unprofessional and he needs to be informed about it. Maybe his mother can tell him to act more mature since he's going to be an adult soon.

I'll leave it here and wish them a full recovery.

Oh please, not the asthma excuse again. Other skaters like Charlie White and Joshua Farris has asthma, but you don't see them stumbling around like zombies after their free program.
I know who you are. But I won't call you out. I hope you stay out of this topic because it's about health update. thank you very much. I am kindly asking. Because your post is distracting people from Yuzuru and Han Yan's health update.

I wonder when we'll get updates on his condition? I'm still nervous for him. And I'm torn on the decision he made yesterday.

It made me so sad to see one of my favorite skaters get injured like that. And Also I hope Han Yan is doing okay.

Okay I just realized what I just said sounded so naive and fake. I'm NOT being fake.

that proves to me the collision wasn't that bad.

I don't see how anyone could watch the aftermath of that collision and think it "wasn't that bad". Yuzuru lay there on the ice like a rag doll. He and Han both looked dazed. I'm hoping they both recover quickly and completely.

It's not really about their health but this is so heartbreaking I want to share. Someone has pointed out that in this video: http://youtu.be/tMaU602j_0w

At 9:42 Yuzu says, “Han Yan wa?” meaning “What about Han Yan?” and he goes to look for him repeating, “Han Yan wa?” a few times.
At 17:25 Han Yan goes to talk to Yuzu backstage.

Let me go into the corner and cry for these 2 babies.:cry:

^Oh dear, now I'm tearing up again. So touching (but not at all surprising to me to learn) that Yuzuru in the middle of his own personal distress still thought to ask about Han Yan.

Thanks for sharing Meoima.

Really concerned about the results of Yuzuru's medical tests. Like ayarose, said a special prayer for him and Han Yan last Sunday at mass.

I'm concerned also. I also said a prayer last night. But in my room. And I told G-D I will sacrifice eating cookies and ice cream until Thanksgiving day.

@cheerknithanson, I deleted my post before I saw your response because I thought this may not be the proper thread, but I think both of us may be given a pass.

I am sure G-D appreciates your sacrifice and will listen to our prayers. God bless your caring heart!

Thank you. I feel like that I should give up stuff temporarily so that I show how willing I am to do it in order for good to happen to the other person.

Still no news about Yuzuru's health yet. But well... According to some source, Japan Fed is considering that they send doctor for competitions abroad after what happened to Yuzuru.

And here I am extremely confused. They have never sent doctors along with their skaters before? Maybe at Olympics, yes. But what about other competitions?

Well on the NBC broadcast I think it mentioned that the organizer's (in this case the Chinese Fed.) has doctors/medical personnel - perhaps the Japanese Fed. has thought that was enough previously.

Maria Victoria, both you and cheerknithanson have brought a smile to my face and a few tears to my eyes. :yay:

Meoima, thanks for the YT link. Always lovely to see competitors reaching out to each other like that!

Re: team doctors, even if a team doesn't bring its own doctors/trainers, it would make sense for each event to have a doctor on site to handle incidents like this. Depending on the type of injury, even a few seconds can make a difference.

He's a 19 (almost 20) year old athlete, if he's in a wheelchair, clearly something isn't okay... at least in my opinion. Hopefully its just precaution, since someone has mentioned that he might've gotten a leg injury.

i was trying to say he didnt look dying. Instead of his leg(which is also important but), I am more worried of his head. anyway, last night he went straight to the hospital and did the examination there. The result might has been out but the media hasn't report anything yet. Hopefully we can get any update soon.

I just watched the men's LP again and I believe Terry Gannon said the US medical team was working on Hanyu. Seems to me that the host country ought to have a medical team available for any skater that is injured in the competition.

I agree with this. This should be the responsibility of either the host country or the ISU. Then if some want their own doctors, they can do that too.

Oh bless his heart!! At about 13:02 after coming to the boards and talking with Brian he yells something just as the camera goes to Han in the hallway. Anyone know what he was saying?

Here's some news today: http://www.sponichi.co.jp/sports/news/2014/11/10/kiji/K20141110009257750.html

Not much was mentioned just that the "official results" of the work up will announced in 10 days time. That JSF is indeed considering sending their own doctor to overseas competitions and stop relying on the organizers. They are going to discuss about it. The rest of it is something we already know. That Yuzu arrived yesterday at Narita amidst the cheers of his countrymen. The stitches and stapling he received.

As a doctor, I honestly think they already know an unofficial result. We often received results of diagnostic exams within minutes to an hour but maybe they are conferring with several specialists for now. From experience, I usually give a preliminary report to relatives but still withdraw some details until I get several opinions. In short, we tend to be vague with the info until everyone that can be asked about it.

I am afraid Yuzuru's test result might be not very positive, or else they could have released it already. I mean even Han Yan has been released and doctor told him to take 4 days off. Why JSF is delaying the announcement? Why in 10 days time?
