Practicing Salchow... does that mean he's planning a 5 quad FS including quad Salchow for Nationals?
I know he could be just practicing it in general (and maybe it's just a triple) and not necessarily for Nats, but it's quite possible.
Although frankly, I'm more interested in the next installment of his costume chronicles . But we might not see another one before Worlds.

I think it's funny how Nathan, even though the quad Salchow is an edge jump and therefore one of his weaker jumps, just sort of tacks it on in the second half of his 4-5 quad programs. Back when he did his 6 quad programs, it used to be his last, 'throwaway' quad.
Maybe it's physically/strengthwise less demanding than a 4F or 4Lz, so in that sense it's easier for him, even when the take-off feels less comfortable and is less consistent?

Sounds a bit... obsessive. Maybe he should switch to full-time studying, get a GF... you know, things to take his mind off skating.
(JK, everyone does what makes them the most happy )

(but maybe someone should tell him, that you can download skating videos from platforms such as youtube etc...)

Back to 2016 us nationals, the quad salchow seemed pretty consistent. Nathan even did 4S+2T+2Lo at the free skate. So maybe 4S is not that technical diffcult for nathan. He just pay more attention to practice 4Lz & 4F.

He said in an interview that he does the 4S towards the end because by the halfway point in the fs, he is just relying on muscle memory and not overthinking technique.
