Thanks guys for posting all the pics and videos from the gala :) It's really a relief to see Shoma smiling and in good spirits.

and here's another angle of the lift from Galliamov, so cute lol!

not sure if this video has been posted, I finally found out Shoma tried to "looks taller" before he was lifted by Galliamov (and another skater's leg was supporting him?)

I'm glad to see Shoma's happy face in gala at the end of IDF, and thank you for all the audience, including many Shoma fans who cheered loud to him!

I appreciated Galliamov’s lift when I saw it in gala :) i’m quietly doing the unovember for daily positivity for Uno, and I was so glad to see that smile back.

I really enjoyed Shoma's EX at the gala, really nice of Alexander to pick him up so he could be in the group photo.

Happy to hear Shoma going to Stephane for a couple of weeks. Hopefully this will help him. Even though IDF was a tough comp I'm looking forward to seeing Shoma at Rostelecom. [emoji123]

Our fellow Shoma fan, kattun92, translated the entirety of Shoma's pre-IDF Gala interview tweeted out by Ryota Hasebe, a reporter for Jiji Press:

With her permission, I will share it here, because there are many great answers from Shoma:

"I always held the feeling of not wanting to lose to my scores and skated with the mindset that i needed to get results, but after experiencing this, this mindset is starting to go away."

"It's exactly because of this extremely bad result that my mindset changed, and now I want to work even harder. My current mood now is the happiest I've been since this season and the previous season. Even though I clearly had that kind of performance, now my mentality is moving forwards. I think i'm moving forwards more than people think."

Impact of not having a coach :

"To be honest, going into the season I thought that I could fine tune my technique, but it's not a question of whether or not I can do it, I just simply wasn't happy. When my condition was bad, it was because of my coach that a smile would appear on my face. I deeply became conscious that you absolutely can not do this alone."

"When my condition is good, I can succeed all my jumps without even thinking. But lately while practicing alone, regardless if my condition was good or not, I was never happy, so this is what I hope to find from a coach."

Concerning the criteria for a coach :

"Although I don't know if "someone who suits me" is the right term, the things that I really seek, even if they are not exactly the same, should not be very different. I think the right person is someone who, even though I am skating for myself, will want to fight alongside with me."

About Rostelecom Cup :

"Even though I don't know if I will have a good performance or not, i'm not worried about having the same kind of performance as I did here. Better to say, I finally refound the feeling of wanting to compete."

Thank you rabidline for sharing this interview and kattun92 for translating!

Glad to hear he’s feeling motivated once again and is the happiest he’s been in a while. It’s really telling of his strength in how he talks about how despite the results of this event, he feels motivated and has a refreshed mentality. Hoping that he’s able to come out and compete as he wants at Rostelecom, as well as find a coach that he feels suits him best!

A blog update from Demi-san! I wonder what food they’re sharing?

I feel much better now.:luv17:
I read many blogs, twitters, articles and I chatted with my friends and that helped me.
Shoma looked very happy at the gala, enjoyed his performance, and he said something very positive.
That was everything for me.
My friend told me he wouldn’t perform at the gala even if he was invited.
I didn’t think so.
He wanted to thank everyone in the arena (or not there) and it must be refreshing change of mood.
Thank you for beautiful This Town, Shoma, and welcome back 3A.
Someone said Shoma was like an angel on the ice and I agree definitely.😇
And his smile was like a pearl for me.

https://twitter.com/tokyo1005/status/1191684827130421248 that Colantotte clip also did a pretty nice job at showing the attractiveness of Shoma

Kanako posted this on her IG story - https://twitter.com/yawning_shoma/status/1191863483404607488 :)

I want to tell him that how he overcomes this massive hurdle will be the toughest fight he’s ever had. I will always support you! if it’s Shoma, he can get through it.

also, just something people have noticed, but Sho, Marin and Keiji have all done the 'live long and prosper' salute recently, I wonder if it's an inside joke between them :p

Nope, I didn’t office the Vulcan salute, but i’ll look for it. It makes sense :)

I am hoping for a beautiful skate in Moscow, without the falls. I would rather he downgrades his jumps and skates for impact of both programs because they work so well with his skating. But Uno always charges into those quads so I have my heart in my throat.

Also, while ain’t coaches, I get a feeling lots of fans are happy to fight for him to stay in the competitions by the means available to them. I hope he finds the coach that jives with him.

That was a difficult day. Seeing Shoma fall right in front of me 4 times across two days (the other time was on the opposite end of the arena) was painful and heartbreaking. But the loud cheers from every corner of the rink really helped.

Thank Latremu, I really love your report.
I have a question.
What Shoma’s performance do you like best this time?
(Sorry for late)
