The drugs that Eteri's skaters are given to delay puberty are known to cause broken bones.
Any proof or just wild internet speculation?
Like Alena's multiple fractures, or Daria Usacheva's broken hip. Yes, skaters get injuries, and hip injuries are unfortunately common, but it is in no way a normal skating injury for a 15-year-old girl to fracture her hip.
Well for 1 social media makes everything more 'aware' than things in the past and ladies nowadays are trying to gain skills that prior a few years ago it was an anomaly to see a lady do or even talk about attempting to train it, so 'normal' in the sport has changed. Tara Lipinski who competed 20+ years ago and to my knowledge never trained with Eteri, attempted to train quads or triple axels and her hips were trashed before she turned 18 when she had hip surgery and she admits it was a misdiagnosis for 4 or 5 years (surgery at 18 to fix the problem, minus 4 and 5 that means she was younger 13/14 when she started having problems). Timothy Goebel, the original Quad King had hip issues, as did Alexei Yagudin.
