Is that even a question? Sasha of course! The question is who gets silver (actually not that much, Anna‘s quads speak for themselves) and bronze.

Other than the number of quads Trusova's gonna do, this is a predictable and snoozy event. Moving on...:slink:

We could see Shcherbakova be the first to land 4Lz-3T, or Trusova could beat her to it. We could see potential changes to Shcherbakova's layout and whether she can skate that amazing SP cleanly. We could see Alena possibly whip out a 3Lz-3Lo or a 3A. We could see Nastya Tarakanova potentially go for the quad in the free. We could see if Alena Kanysheva changes her layout again since she's changed it a couple of times.

I think this event will be the best of the season.

Right! I don‘t see how this event could ever be described as boring. :eeking: Last year the only fall in the JGPF was on a quad attempt. If we see a similarily clean competition, it will give us so many anazing programs to watch, it‘s not even funny. I‘m sure Anna will do her SP clean this time. I guess she is like Alina, she needs a bit more time in the season to peak but when she does.... watch out. ;) I think the Gold is firmly in Sasha‘s hands but Anna can - with a bit of luck and strong nerves - take it away from her. Alena will have to hope for mistakes from the other two to get the gold but she looks in good position to secure the bronze. Anastasia Tarakanova seems hungry for a medal as well. And didn‘t Plushenko say in an interview once we‘ll see a 4T from her in the JGPF? Well, if she pulls that off she can play spoiler. Alena Kanysheva is solid and consistent but I fear she won‘t be getting the highest PCS marks due to this being her first junior year. Yelim is lovely with many great qualities but I have a feeling she‘ll be a bit overshadowed from the dominant Russians. Overall, I‘m SO excited for this event. I‘m hoping for lots of clean skates like last year!

Oh...fun with layouts! And we may get a chance to see 4Lz+3T and be lucky enough to witness more than 3.5 + 2.5 rotations in the air...I think I will pass. I mean with Caro, another junior lady like Tomoe, or Liza Tukt., who is also competing at the GPF, I know that I will see proper toe-pick action and high 3Lz's with three full rotations performed in the air. Triple lutzs as advertised, without any worry of getting bait and switched ;).

I found a random tarot card generator (again) and it said this:

Trusova: Ten of Swords (Ruin): Crushing defeat brought about by idle intellectualism divorced from reality. Sadness and desolation in the aftermath of a catastrophic and total collapse. A decisive conclusion brought about through the swift and merciless application of overwhelming force. :(

Kostornaia: The dark essence of air behaving as earth, such as a sandstorm: The approach of an unexpected challenge, met with muddled thought and unjust action. A person filled with a destructive appetite for all matters of mind and logic. Voyeurism, espionage, and misguided witch hunts. The use of clever argument and eloquent speech to mask the truth.

Shcherbakova: The dark essence of fire behaving as earth, such as dry wood: The surprising appearance of a new passion or inflammatory news. A trickster who can unexpectedly ignite a dangerous situation. The intensity and childish imagination that can send even the most stable venture spinning wildly out of control. Can represent a person outwardly timid, but harboring unexpected inner fury. May indicate the birth of a child.

Tarakanova: The Hierophant, when reversed: Authoritarianism. Inflexible and dogmatic thinking. A calcified old regime. Bad or incompetent advice. Inability to hear a higher or inner voice, or pretending to hear it for personal gain.

Kim: Five of Wands (Strife): An intense struggle motivated purely by the love of competition. A state of seeming chaos driven by endless small disputes and complications. A hotly contested race, debate, game, or other challenge. A stressful situation that brings out the best in the participants.

Kanysheva: Six of Cups (Pleasure), when reversed: Closing your heart to the simple pleasures of life. Escaping realities by living in the past. Refusal to grow up and embrace the joys of adulthood. Contempt for acts of gentle kindness. May indicate immaturity or sexual insecurities. May indicate the departure of an old friend.

(this tarot generator is not a fan of Russians... and randomizers do not like Trusova...)

Is that even a question? Sasha of course! The question is who gets silver (actually not that much, Anna‘s quads speak for themselves) and bronze.

Yes, it is a question. You can be never sure when it comes to quads.

As someone who enjoys both the juniors and the seniors AND sees the appeal of correct technique: I think we can admire both. The young girls who try their best to move the sport forward and the women who enrich it with mature performances, correct jumps and great interpretation. I‘m actually someone who isn‘t too fond of the “quad revolution“ in ladies, simply because of the fact that it might end up like it did in men‘s. You need a quad attempt to even be in consideration of the podium. Which means lots of quads are being planned and lots of them... not landed. I don‘t want splats in ladies. That‘s why I hope the focus will only be on a selected few who can do them but not a requirement to even come close to winning a medal. I‘m still excited for this event. Because it means I can see many favorites. And if Sasha who isn‘t my favourite at all from this group of ladies wins (or Anna but she‘s one of my favourites, so...), it will be well deserved because even 3.5 rotations in the air are a pretty big achievement and nothing to laugh at. They are giving their everything to this sport to push it and themselves further. I think this should be treated with respect. If not for the technique, that is admittedly not correct at all, then simply for the mindset and spirit.

Mine put Trusova last too

Random.org is just trolling us. What would it take for Sasha to come in last? Her not competing at all?

Yes, it is a question. You can be never sure when it comes to quads.

I mean, sure there is the possibility of Sasha or Anna bombing very hard but how big is it? I mean, even if they land only one of their planed quads, they are so far ahead nobody will really be able to chase them unless they pull of an ultra-c element themselves. Alena had a lead in the Russian Cup event from the SP and she skated a perfect FS. Sasha had a 4Lz-3T combo in her FS but also fell on another 4Lz and popped her 4T to a 2T. She still won with quite a healthy margin. And I really can‘t see Sasha totally collapsing. That girl has a determination and power I have never seen before. She landed the first ratified 4Lz in ladies’ skating (albeit with 0 GOE) while she was sick. And now she‘s completely healthy and ready to repeat her victory from last year. Which leads me to the only logical consequence: There is one question to solve: Will Anna wipe out another quad and take the gold away from Sasha? And if not... by how much will she win? And that‘s me saying this whose favourite is actually Alena. I love her a lot but I don‘t want to place these high expectations on her when we‘ve seen that without an ultra-c element she simply cannot defeat Sasha (or Anna, though we don‘t have proof for that yet) even with her absolute maximum. I‘m not mad about that. I applaud Sasha and Anna for what they do because they‘re amazingly tough and strong and fearless. I’d rather watch Alena‘s skating without quads any day but if she loses with that, it‘s okay too. She has a plan and I’m sure she has calculated the odds. She strikes me as a very clever girl. So if she doesn’t attempt a 3A here (which I doubt she will), she probably knows it’s not going to be enough for the gold. And I’m not going to throw a fit about that, why would I? I personally just want to enjoy phenomenal skating at this JGPF like there was last year.

What happened to this thread? Is this a pre-event discussion on JGPF ladies comp or an advertising thread for random.org ;)?
