I wonder how Yuzuru is going to navigate trying to stay healthy and trying to put the 4Lz in. At ACI, we saw him attempt a few 4Lz. Not this time it seems? Will he try in practice?

I suspect he'll go for one of those jumps by GPF, surely.

Yuzu was just perfect during practice [emoji178] honestly I sometimes watch The Skating lesson and after Japan Open where NC skated they literally said „Hanyu is scre*wed” which made me really mad even though I know they just don’t like Yuzu and that’s Why they make such stupid remarks but after This practice I am so peaceful [emoji4] Yuzu is just in a class of his own [emoji178]
Sending positive vibes to Yuzuru! Stay strong and healthy!

To me, the reaction of many people to Yuzu is the embodiment of this phrase that "people love to see fall of the great". The fact that he is on top for many years just gets on their nerves, he proves that you can not make excuses for your losses, that if you work hard and wise and right, you will get the result. There are people that simply ignore him just because his achievements mirror their faults.

There are people talking in a way like Yuzu's 2 OGM was ancient history, that others with 2 world title (mind them that Yuzu also has 2) have already passed him miles.

Maybe I'm too sensitive, but in our own ways and our own field, I and husband are in similar situation. The fact that people completely ignore that your achievements are the result of going through blood and sweat. That they enjoy seeing you falter which forces you to keep that strong face even when you are crumbling inside. And, it is hard. And, it is a very very lonely place.

Then again, Yuzu persists, no turning back. Oh God, this man is a warrior. He deserves every ounce of respect and love that he receives. He is such a ray of hope for many I'm sure. And, he will be full golden this year

Can't wait to get to our "random act of kindness" after SC :hap10:

Yuzuru is the ultimate tall poppy in our sport. Patrick was it before him, Nathan will get his in the future, but neither of them had or will have the Olympic lustre, public adoration or megastardom which sets Yuzu apart and brings the bitter carping.

Beautiful clean run through for Yuzu... he was also drilling the 4lo this morning and giving me a heartattack each time! Back to sleep if I can...

Thank you for the links. Yuzuru's RT is so beautiful, better than coffee in jumpstarting my day. He looked so free, totally in his element. As I have been recently watching gymnastics videos from the recent World Championships, I was reminded of a gymnast preparing for a vault or a tumbling pass in FX when Yuzuru launched into his step sequence. (At this point, please indulge my patriotic pride in mentioning here my compatriot Carlos Edriel Yulo, who won the Philippines' first world gold in artistic gymnastics in the FX finals. Carlos trains in Japan. Looking forward to seeing him compete in Tokyo against another favorite Kenzo Shirai.) :eek:topic:

And the praise coming from Ted Barton (yet another Canadian admirer of Yuzuru) was simply lovely, music to this fan's ears. Ted, whose life is skating by his own admission, sees Yuzuru as a special skater who does things at another level.

As Yuzuru apparently will not be doing his riskier elements and considering what happened in Autumn Classic, I am curious for lack of better word whether GOEs will (more than?) offset the lower BV. I pray that, to quote him, all his hard work and efforts will not lie.

Today seems mostly about doing the jumps for Origin, but looking solid.

--Practice now over. Reports say that yuzu is drilling the 4Lo very hard today. -But we've made it through the practice.
Lovely stroking exercises and spirals from Yuzu to cool down. See you all at the next practice! :ghug:

Please please no injury for Hanyu! So excited for this weekend. What a treat it is to be alive at this time to experience such greatness in this sport. :)

Already white-knuckling for Hanyu and Zhenya.

Personally, I’m glad he is not doing any 4A or 4Lz at the moment. Sit back and enjoy every moment of it.

From the clips I have seen Yuzu looks gorgeous, hopefully he doesn't get injured and finishes the GPF gloriously as the king he is.

WOW! Even though it's "just" a practice run with no costume, that was technical AND artistic perfection (to me), even better than his WR Rostelecom performance last year! How in the world does he keep improving??

I so badly wanted to watch him live but it'll be way past 3 a.m. here when he'll start. First thing I'll be doing tomorrow morning is watching the replay xD.

Comments from Yuzu about watching Skate America and how that has influenced him posted on the Olympic Channel website

I'm seriously relieved he isn't going to push himself into the most difficult technical content right now but maximize what's his strength instead.
So I really want to be down to earth and perform well by thinking what is a risk and what is best for me.
Believe this attitude means he has both short-term goals, like GPF and Nationals, and long-term, like next Olympics hopefully... what is something I can only pray for .

Be yourself, Yuzuru, show your strengths, stay healthy - and have the best of luck, tonight and always!

Btw, I feel excited as if it's Christmas  No wonder, as I feel every Yuzu's performance is as the best gift to us :).

Gosh, I'm ridiculously nervous for Yuzu today. I always get more nervous watching others perform than performing myself.
