Radionova wasn't overscored. She made an error and then made up for it by adding the 3T later on - which got her more points, actually. It's actually kinda genius ... if she makes an error on the lutz combo, the extra points she gets from adding the 3T in the second half sorta somewhat make up for the -GOE on the lutz.

Compared to Mao though, her PCS was rather high.

I actually thought Medvedeva should have arguably equalled Mao on PCS - as outrageous/sacrilegious as that seems, Medvedeva looked fresher, faster, more confident, had excellent edgework and transitions and spins, and excellent difficulty. She's kind of like Uno - coming out of junior ranks you don't expect her to get the PCS scores, but her programs have choreography and transitions as good as their other ladies, even if she doesn't nearly have the finessing of Mao.

She really doesn't have the quality of Mao or afew others I could mention. Her legs are apart, splayed or crooked most of the time. Not her fault; at her age she doesn't have the muscle to hold beautiful straight pointed legs. Her jumps are fast because of her lightness, again age. But, they are not beautiful or particularly high if I recall. Not to argue here but dissagree.

"greatest female skater of all time"

...okay :palmf:

Actually that's true if she will improve just a little on the artistry. But the technique i've never seen anything like this, she is trained to do a lot of difficult combos.

Here's everyone's favourite protocol time!!!

Evgenia: TES is fine (but lol one judge gave her a -2 GOE on her loop). PCS, 32-ish would be better.

Elena: Again TES is fine. But one point less for PCS please (which will be around 32 too).

Mao: Both the flip and the loop is UR? I need to check on youtube when I wake up. PCS is great, I would give a 9 for performance and interpretation though.

Satoko: An 'e' for the flip? Seriously? I honestly don't think so. Again I would give her 9 for performance.

Gracie: Well I really have nothing much to say about her scores. But she gets 0.10 more than Mao on step sequence?

Ashley: Yes, technically it was pretty messy, won't say more about it. But I would give her a 9 for performance and choreo. But a bit down on skating skills.

ok an update, Yes Mao's flip was definitely UR and the loop was just slightly more than a quarter. (I really need to sleep now its 6:15am already. please give me some energy everyone...)

I think she still has a decent shot at the podium at Worlds.
Not only decent for Worlds but for this very competition
I say tomorrow is another day
for any of these girls

Sad for Gracie and Satoko. Gracie had the chance to take the lead and blew it. But its better to peak at nationals and worlds. She at least can get silver tomorrow. And these judges is a lost cause for Satoko aren't they? just want to shake my head.

She has technique from the tutelage of Eteri Tutberidze...who teaches HORRIBLE technique.

Um...her jumps are wonky. Yes she can backload tano jumps into her program, but her jumps pale in comparison to alot of other ladies.

I'm just glad that people are starting to notice that Satoko's being unfairly penalised in her scores. Her jumps looked fine.

You can recognize her skaters the moment they perform a 2A. Hers still is better than Julia's, that's something... right?

I just can't with some flop posters here already proclaiming which of these girls is going to be killed by puberty. Also they are usually Russian and yet they still have the last laugh.

Her flip is at least flat or worse more often than it's good but doesn't get called because she so short... and her 3T today IMO was UR.

I think it's fair for judges to penalize her in PCS when the tech panel isn't looking at her pre-rotation. They only ever look at landings for URs, right? It's unfair that Satoko's jumps receive comparable scores to other ladies, IMO. That said, Satoko has wonderful choreography and a feel for the music, and her interpretation has only gotten stronger since last year.
