Russian Fed showed so little consideration to Anna at the national championship:hopelessness:... I mean they placed her on 4th, although she had an excellent season, winning 2 Grand Prix, and being 3rd at the Final.... :( I suspect that even Evgenia will be in danger next year, if Alina and Polina will be very very consistent and with better combinations. Also i think that they push Evgenia to try a quad, that's way she is adding triple jumps here and there in her programs, to bring something new.
Ill be penalised for OT haha:hopelessness::laugh:
but yeah now you're a queen & tomorrow you're yesterday
Imo they should capitalise on Anna b/c she's sure a grown up now & seems stable a lot. But obv its less riskier to bet on the 17 yo this days
Yeah imo Zagi can snatch a medal easily (there's even a thread on GS AFAIK:laugh:)

It actually makes me root less for Carriera/Ponomarenko:slink: I know its unfair but I cant help myself:hopelessness:

Oh please don't! They are so charming, and Anthony in particular is phenomenal considering how young he is

I have to admit I was not a fan of theirs until I saw them live in Skate America in 2012. The crazy FD, of course, was grand. Good timing on my part. :)
i hope they bring in the crazy next year

I KNOW! thats why im sad!
I dont want to root against them!:(

This Euro made me most of the "overseas" teams to like even more than before. Virtue/Moir, Shibs and even Chock/Bates could win this with a clean skate I seriously think that.

And I am European.....

Why do you think rumba will not be good rhythm for Shibs(meant as curiosity not controversy:))

Namely cause rhumba, by its nature is a romantic dance, obviously not good for a brother-sister pair.

However, the rule states that you can actually do a rhumba pattern to a number of recommended Latin rhythms, so I think there's workaround.

So Kevin Bacon just decided to ditch the entire twizzle sequence AGAIN and people are saying it might be his injury? :roll9: He did not even try. It's his attitude, not his injury lol.

P/C won the FD and the whole competition as expected. They're never good at SD anyway. The FD is a bit monotonous though. But they're good to win this.

You can't compare competitions for scores. Europeans are always thoug ... step sequences level 3 only for the better skaters. In this conditions 114 points is a very good score

Blasphemy! :furious: P/C's best competition to day was in Boston.
On a more serious note, I don't get why people don't love the Shibs FD this season. I LOVE IT

Maia have more formal style, she looks stiff, unrelaxed when they had to dance something. This is why they often find music where you don't need to do special moves. (move your hip like latin dance, lift your legs like dancing swing or move your shoulder like gypsy, whatever) You can't see her doing it. Last I remember was MJ dance.2014 i think.

You said this so much better than I would have.

I do think they can work around it but it will have easy of a pair than can pretend to feel a lot of passion for each other like V/M. I think the Rumba will be theirs to win or lose.

What Elif said is also true. Some people can do latin dances and some people have to work harder at them. Tessa can do latin dances.

No worries, I was joking! That program from the Shibs was special especially skating in front of the home crowed, but so is their program this year. If anyone is to beat P/C at worlds (besides V/M), I think the Shibs have the best chance.

On a separate note, I hate conspiracies, but can't help to notice that both B/S and S/B were hammered technically. Maybe someone with knowledge can analyse whether the calls for B/S (level 2 steps) and S/B (level 1 steps) were fair or not. It didn't seem such a tough panel all around. It just seems a bit weird

I was there  That was also when the I/K break-up rumours were floating around, so it was certainly an exciting time
Wouldn't want to read through those threads though, in the heat of the moment people say the darndest things.

A bit OT but this is the Shibs doing a rhumba SD in 2012.

Back to Euros, I see that 3 judges gave Sinitsina/Katsalapov +1 for their straightline lift :sarcasm:

It WAS special:luv17: this year's prog is imo more art house than pop than last year & understandably has less fans

I'd srsly would love everything to be transparent but ID is super biased & super connected
Another theory is that Italian & French tech spec agreed & voted 2 votes against Ponomarenko so all 3 russian teams are lowballed (yeah some skaters actualy helped the specialists with their actions on ice:palmf:) in the end

It's doable. Almost anything is doable. Except maybe the Dirty Dancing SD. I do not want to see the Shibs have to do that pattern. Just thinking about who has, on the face of things, the biggest natural advantage from Rumba being the SD and to me that's V/M. Now they might have a dreadful SD and the Shibs might be a work of art. Who knows this far out.

I'm not sure how much I believe the Ponomarenko conspiracy theories. There were some harsh level calls all around, and GOE often had more to do with the final TES which he had nothing to do with. Tobias/Tkachenko, Guignard/Fabbri(whom Igor consults with) and Nazarova/Nikitin all got L2 on both step sequences, and N/N got L3 on their twizzles. Lorenz/Polizoakis also got some tough level calls in especially the SD, but also FD. I think people are seeing what they want to see to some extent.
