Hopefully just because they didn't invite him. He looked to be in real pain after that skate... Hope he's okay.

I know; he looked like he was hurting--physically and emotionally.

But either way, I think he was too low in the standings to get an invite, sadly.

No Hubbell/Donohue (who had the skates of their lives and a fantastic season) but Scimeca/Knierim instead who bombed and finished 9th? This is ridiculous...
It's not. Scimeca/Knierim were the top Americans in the pairs, and traditionally at least one home country skater from each discipline is invited. Hubbell/Donohue may have had a great season, but there are already two top American ice dance teams in the gala and no real reason to include another. I'm more surprised to see no Weaver/Poje.

So they couldn't make room in the schedule to invite one ice dance team outside of the TOP5 :sarcasm: ?
Pairs 9th, Men 8th, Men 6th and Ladies 7th were all invited but they couldn't invite the n°6 Ice Dance team who happen to be also American, especially after the n°5 apparently declined (I really hope they were invited and declined). Ice Dance get's no respect as per usual...

Edit: Actually Tarasova/Morozov are not on the schedule either so we can assume they invited on the TOP 4 for Pairs and Ice Dance :palmf:

Pairs 9th and men's 6th are the top Americans, which I have already covered in my previous post. Ladies 7th is Mao Asada, I'd invite her too if I were the organizers. The only "questionable" one on your list is Max Aaron, and I think he's done enough the earn an invite as the second American. Hubbell/Donohue are not the second Americans, they're not World Champions and Olympic medalists like Asada. Hopefully they can continue to improve and will earn their spot in future galas.

No Volsozhar/Trankov?!?! Really?! I mean they bombed the FS, but they are the friggin' reigning Olympic champions.... I mean the organisers realised they totally had to invite Mao because she is a living legend of the sport, but V/T had to be here as well! I would be pissed if I were attending the gala

Looking forward to the Gala! Very surprised that V/T are not on the list. :scratch2:

Seriously, no Radionova. That one of the only reasons I bought an exhibition ticket. Ugh

awwww no! I had hoped all the Americans would get to skate in the gala! Would have loved to watch Mirai and H/D one last time.
