So from what I can gather (since we don't have an update on results in that page just yet) the Top 5 after Men's SP:

1 Denis TEN KAZ 92.51
2 Konstantin MENSHOV RUS 82.33
3 Michal BREZINA CZE 80.68
4 Michael Christian MARTINEZ PHI 74.45
5 Ivan RIGHINI ITA 71.79

Unless I was wrong somewhere (could not see the GoldenSpin twitter handle's tweet on Brezina but I see it on the hashtag #GoldenSpin results). I'm hoping that no one bombs the FS though (looking at you, Denis, even if you have that 10-point cushion), but I still kiiiiinda want Brezina to win. ^^;;

ETA: Results out (on printed paper, hahaha), the listed Top 5 Men after the SP = on-point. Let's hope everyone does well at their respective FS programs!

I'd argue the caller was really nice! 35.88 TES?! That's higher than Chock & Bates TES from Skate America! (who previously had the highest TES, ha!)

Their SB TES previously didn't even break 30 (28.55 from Skate America this season) and now they have top-tier TES?

Hubbell and Donahue's previous PB TES in the Short Dance was from way back at Worlds 2012: 32.64.

Really, this is not beneficial for the skaters at all.

I am torn between wanting Brezina to win and wanting Denis to skate well because I think his FS is fantastic. So I guess if one wins, and one finishes second, but they both skate well I'll be happy.

You're right Doris. But I'm scratching my head at the fact that G/F increased their TES by some 7 points in two weeks?!

But you are right that we have not seen video, so maybe they improved greatly.

I am inclined to think Denis will win it (that 10-point cushion), but from my observations once he does a great SP he, more often than not, usually bombs his FS. >_> I am hoping that he would deliver though. I am curious at how great his FS really would be if skated clean. (Granted, I'm not a fan of Denis Ten, but I wish for him to do great this year, in the wake of his Olympic Bronze).

Brezina though. Personally I want to see him win things because I think he deserves it--just that he, like many other, headcases a lot. ~_~

Yep....unfortunately that's the problem with liking a lot of the skaters right now. They could either skate really well - or really bad. Denis does have a nice cushion but I think he did at TEB too and then he skated badly. Brezina was off at SC, so he could bomb too. I really hope they don't, but who knows? Menshov could skate well enough to win the whole thing. Now wouldn't that be funny?

Would it be reasonable to hope that there could be videos for this event? I mean Ten skated brilliantly yet there is no video for it, Kiira will skate for the first time in a long time so please someone upload it!

Kiira fell 3F but 3Lo-2T + 2A obviously ok. Total 56.22 and TES 27.14. So the PCS must be 28.08 (if one point deduction). Go Kiira!! :cheer:

We can't watch the live stream we can't see the results updated in real time.
We are in the Internet era.
The facebook page of the event not updated to the 2014 competition. A local student can do it for peanuts.
Terrible homepage of the event.

So bad so sad.
What's wrong with Zagreb?
Anti-climax for the popularization of ice skating and totally no care for the fans that can not make it to Croatia.
Is this really the oldest world ice skating competition (as it is promoted)?
Time to discontinue this competition :(

It's really bad - are the organisers still living in the Middle Ages?? We had live streams of Nebelhorn, Ice Challenge and Warsaw Cup. I can see no reason why this can't be streamed as well, or at least, UPDATED REGULARLY!

Shameful!

Why are the judges here so stingy with PCS? Denis scored over 50 in TES but only received 41.60 in PCS and 8.25 in SS. He got 42.86 in PCS at TEB with an error on his quad yet here Denis seemed to me delivered a flawless program but dropped more than a point in PCS.

PCS should be 30,08 (27,14 + 30,08 - 1 = 56,22). That's quite reassuring, 30+ PCS after a two year absence.

Stupid me :drama: Counting the wrong direction. Don't blame me, too much enthusiasm with Kiira and too less information  Thanks for correcting, Pohatta!
