Sakhanovich's PCS are more or less alright (I'd like to complain about the huge difference between her and Miyahara, but Miyaharas PCS seem low compared to all the russians...), her TES make me want to bang my head against the wall though. Radionovas GOE are too high too, at least on the jumps, but Sakhanovich's are just plain wrong. How on earth can you get +1 in GOE for that combo? Both landings were bad, the landing of the 3T looks painful. Her spins travel so much. She has great qualities to her overall skating (though I have to admit I find her to be pretty boring, since her movements look so repetitive to me), but the quality of her technical elements makes it hard to watch her.

Biggest 'blah' of the competition though are Medvedevas PCS. Huge :bang:
(And I'm still mad about Proklova not being here when she deserved it much more)

At least Radionova looks on track to defend her title! Kill it in the LP bby!!!

Karen is too young to go to seniors next season, so she has another shot at it next season to get all the titles.

Russia goes 123 without Proklova and Sotsova. They probably could've with them too. Serafima had a lot of trouble with this sp layout early in the season.

It wasn't layout as such she struggled with; it was most of her jumps generally. She had a growth spur over the summer and that affected her jumps. She needed to readjust and find her balance. But luckily it now seems sorted.

I thought Serafimas SP was just stunning. Gorgeous arms and nice deep edges. The fact that she's grown a lot already is promising. Love Elena too, but Serafima struck a chord with me today.

Medvedeva seemed really improved compared to earlier in the season.

Love Satoko too. Thought she was great. I did notice that sometimes she doesn't really finish her moves so maybe that's why her PCS are lower?

For Amano supposedly being a stickler, the technical panel has let Bronislava Dobiasova get away with having performed the entirety of her flying sit spin with the upper part of her skating leg above her knee. It should have been called as 'no value' IMO.

Yay! Jenni Saarinen did well!

Does anyone know why Efimenko is not in the Jr. Worlds, nor listed even as an alternative for the Sr. Worlds? She just beat Turkkila in the Nordics by ten points!

Efimenko is not age eligible for Sr. Worlds yet.

Does he get the final say on the calls though?

eg. I heard (only hearsay!) that in an interview, Amano said that he thought Asada's GPF SP 3A was rotated, but the assistant tech specialist called for a review, and then it got called UR.

What is the procedure there? If tech specialist or the assistant calls for a review, how is a decision made? It seems the technical specialist doesn't have the final say over the assistant? Is it whatever the specialist/assistant agree on, and if they don't agree, does the technical controller decide? Or what?

Back to the junior ladies... Russia sure seems to have a production line going, churning out talented young ladies! I don't imagine they will all survive growth, and do well in senior competition... but surely some/many of them will...

Radionova now has a much better 2A:) I don't even care whether she gets gold here or not; The senior level competition is what matters.

SAKHANOVICH & MIYAHARA's knee bent will never make me a fan of their skating. But at least MIYAHARA's landings are smooth, unlike SAKHANOVICH's jerky landing.

To be fair, MEDVEDEVA looks much better than earlier in the season, especially her presentation. I feel she grows more mature and added more spice to her ballerina program. The ballerina-ness in her sp is just next to Proklova's. I can watch both all day long.

Karen Chen is still very small. I am a little worrying about her body type issue. She seems to have wider shoulder and hip bones now without growing taller. Her ss is amazing though.

@YesWay

It would take both the tech specialist and the tech assistant to overrule the controller. The controller needs only one of those two to uphold his/her call. I guess that could be said from any point of view....point being you need a 2 out of 3 to overturn something. Shin will be quite generous to Mao and probably shred my Yulia. No big deal. He'll be mostly fair I think.
