Well, Kudriavtseva/simeneko couldn't qualify for the junior nationals because a half of the season they both skated with different partners. A few weeks ago they did a competition together and got a pretty decent score- 161.96. Not bad for their first competition, which took place just a few months after they paired up. So to me it would make a sense to compete in as many competitions as possible, to make the federation invite them for the nationals of Elder Age, and then hopefully get some decent result to get two JGP events next season. After all, at their competition they did beat Pavliuschenko/Khodykin, who placed 5th at the junior nationals, and they also beat Atakhanova/Spiridonov who placed second at the junior nationals. Not sure why are they not doing the Russian cup final. If they were ready to compete a few weeks ago (and have done so well), they are very likely ready to compete now too.
I am not sure, can you just go to the Russian Cup Final without participating in any competitions that lead up to it (Russian Cup stages or Senior/Junior Nationals)?

Cup final will start about an hour from now, yet we don't even have all the entries. Or a results page. That is just great.

Loboda/Drozd have a good chance to win JrDance.

Interesting enitries at SrMen - Voronov, Erokhov, Dmitriev, Petrov, Samarin etc.
Very strong JrMen - most of leaders of JrNats.
Good SrLadies - Konstantinova, Leonova, Fedichkina, Tsurskaya.
Constellation of JrLadies, include most of the best at JrNats and Lozko, Scherbakova.
Not so stpong Pairs, except Astakhova-Rogonov.

Loboda/Drozd are walking it with a massive score of 70!

They are really pushed by the Fed...

I really do like them a lot and they definitely were better than teams below them, so, the their placement is right but I don't know about the score. It will be very interesting to see how they will do in FD.

I don't find anything special about them... only some "sensual" movements look at least strange.

Now I see... the tech specialist is Petr Durnev, the same as in Torun Cup where K/N won
This guy works with Zhulin, who worked with Samohin, their coach, and all are based at the same skating ring.
Small world.
Anyway, the scores are inflated, especially theirs. I also noticed in Junior Nationals that they are really pushed.

Well, I am not into conspiracy theories. Anyway they were 8th at junior nationals and their score wasn't anything special there. They scored a lot better at their Russian Cup event. Some of the other teams here got a couple of points more than what they got at Junior Nationals. Nothing out of the ordinary there since this was to be expected.
