I wonder why Poluyanova/Selkin are skating in seniors, considering how badly they have done in junior nationals. I would have thought that they would want to compete here in juniors and place well, to show that the bad results at nationals was just one off bad competition.

Well, not the debut I was hoping for.

Miroshkin/Yugay

No, their debut is as succesful as was the debut of Kudriavtseva/Zakroev at the beginning of this season. Maybe someone will finally realise that it may not be such a good idea to keep pairing 13/14 year old girls with 22/23 year old blokes.

ETA: how come they have only four points deductions? I thought that falls are now marked differently- first two falls are minus one point each, and after that further falls are minus two points each? So four falls should be minus six points. Or is it only in singles?

I don't know if this is true or not but some people have said that her withdrawn from Junior Nationals was a mistake made by her coaches because by the time of the Junior Nationals she had had a plastic off her arm about a week and she had no problems with jumps whatsoever. However by the time they realize this it was too late fix anything and so she couldn't take part for the junior nationals. But like I said I don't know if this is true or not.
And if I understand the system correctly, Shcherbakova can't compete in Natonals Younger Age (Zhuk Memorial), because she didn't participate in Moscow's Younger Age Championships, so she's already lost two important JGP qualifiers out of 4!
What if injury still bothers her and she won't be in top shape tomorrow? :hopelessness:

In theory that is right, she can't skate there but how is it in practice, I am not sure. Anyway, she can make it to the JGP team by being by far superior than any other skater at the test event in August and she is fully capable to do that. I am confident that she will make her JGP debut next season even if she can't skate at the Zhuk Memorial.

I should have added this video to my previous post.

Like I said she is fully capable to do truly amazing things. I am seriously, she started her 2n half with a 3-3-3 and she jumped total of 11 triples and two 2As at the 2nd half.

I really like what I am seeing here. Her jumps looks by far the best I have ever seen from her. I noticed that they changed their Jumps because apparently they will do 2A instead of 3T which is no suprise really since she has had plenty of problems with her jumps.

Bitching about scores is pointless but I say it anyway that there is no way Osipova/Gallyamov deserved 58.72 in PCS points. And also Pavlyuchenko/Khodykin should have got more than 54.56 points. In Russian Junior Championships Pavlyuchenko/Khodykin got 2.5 points more in PCS than Osipova/Gallyamov.
