• Qualification of Participation: 1) Registered skaters with above KSU skating Level 5. 2) Skaters over age limits: born before 2004. 07. 01

• Segments:
  1) Senior Men/Ladies (KSU skating Level 7-8, regardless of their age)
  2) Junior Men/Ladies (KSU skating Level 5-6, regardless of their age)
  3) Senior/Junior Pairs (Skaters who meet ISU senior/junior pairs ages)
  4) Senior/Junior Ice dances (Skaters who meet ISU senior/junior ice dances ages)

• Freecuts: 24, if categories have 48 skaters or less than.
  30, if categories have skaters more than 48.

• Entry deadlines: 15th December, 2016

• About Selections: Using this competition(Nationals)'s results, skaters will be selected to compete at 1) 2017 Jr. Worlds and 2) 2017 Sr. Worlds.
  Skaters should meet each competition's age limits and minimum TES before this competition's entry deadlines, and following numbers will be selected.
  
  1) 2017 Junior Worlds: 2 Men, 2 Ladies, 1 Pairs, 1 Ice dance.
  2) 2017 Senior Worlds: 1 Man, 1 Lady, 1 Pairs, 1 Ice dance.

I've been in Korea since 2012 and every year, with the exception of 2014, I was able to attend Korean Nationals. I even got tickets for the short program when Yuna skated in 2013, I think I was the only foreigner there, even my Korean language teacher tried to get one but couldn't, they went sold out in just 10 minutes I think. In this last 4 years the Korean figure skating panorama improved so much, I remember the frist time I went there: just a couple of senior skaters, a bunch of Junior ladies and few male skaters. Now we have all of the 4 disciplines, that's really a big achievement in such a short time. Figure skating is increasing slowly but steadily and that's really wonderful to see. I have so many fond memories of those events!
Unfortunately this year I will have to miss nationals, because I work on the 7th and Gangneung is just too far from Seoul to go back and forth in one day. I'm so so so sad, I hope there will be a streaming, so that I can see the competition live at least on Friday and Sunday.
I hope everyone can prepare to the best and be in top shape. I'm particularly cheering for my long-time favourite So-youn, I hope she can claim back her national title

In today`s Korean sports main news, So youn interviewed that she hurt her ankle during practicing steps, and got ankle surgery recently. She said that she will skip Nationals and Universiade, but no refer on 4CC. (but it`s most possible to SY skip 4CC too..) There will be 6-8 weeks to be needed for rehab...:sad21: She said that she will use this to opportunity to prepare 2018 PC.

But she definitely will miss ticket for Helsinki, cuz Nationals is the competition which will select skaters to represent at Worlds. KSU will do not make exception this case.

And I wonder she can hop into National team or not next season, thinking of KSU system (Ranking competition+Nationals=pick national team). But there is exception clause in here, so maybe she can be rescued.

Ugh, such bad news :-/ Just when things were looking up for her - she got a top-tier score at TdF last month, 185+ points and set new PB's for SP, FS and total score.

Is there really no chance she can go to world's?

Well, I'd love to see Da Bin or Na Hyun in Helsinki, but I think So Youn has the best chance of squeezing into the top ten and earning 2 places for Korea at their own Olympics...

Yes, it is okay! Well, I'm reading the rules on the first post. They might be required to complete at the level they qualify for at nationals.
You Young is only 12 and she was the 2016 national champion at senior level!

That's not a bad rule. Generally, this is also what other National championships do. And also, it means that You Young age record won't be beaten But above all, I hope she'll get to keep her title. It would be soo awesome! But I want to see all the girls shining, anyway. Especially Young and Eun Soo. (and Da Bin since she'll probably represent SKorea at World).
