The 2022 CS IceChallenge is the eighth in a series of 10 events of the 2022-23 Figure Skating Challenger Series and is scheduled to take place in Graz, Austria, November 9-13, 2022. The event will feature three figure skating disciplines (Men, Women, and Ice Dance).

If the requirements specified in the above-mentioned documents are fulfilled, the event will count towards ISU World Standing Points, Minimum Total Technical Score, Challenger Series in Figure Skating Ranking and Prize Money.

The Challenger Series is an International Figure Skating Series, introduced during the 2014-15 season. Through ISU support, the objective is to ensure the proper and consistent organization and conduct of up to 10 International Competitions linked together within the Challenger Series. The Series gives adequate opportunities for many skaters to compete at the international senior level and earn World Standing Points. The Series also increases the opportunity for Officials to officiate at an international level.

To be considered for the Challenger Series, the competition must have at least three disciplines (Men, Women, Pair Skating, Ice Dance) from a minimum of 10 different ISU Members in all disciplines combined.

Gracie Gold got a second Challenger :jump::jump::jump::jump:

Also they are actually sending Norwegian girls at two Challengers? :jaw::jaw: I was hoping for Mia Caroline at senior, but she might be added later (they can replace later at Challenger all though there are no subs?) or go to another Senior B competition due to her recent result at local senior competition. I think this assignments were decided already in August..

I´m excited to see that Jenni Saarinen is listed, and that Andreas and Nikolaj is going to compete again at the same competition, so another competition between them fighting for the Euros spot...,

Majorov WD from Nice, so perhaps they just changed plans which is also interesting.
Luc Maierhofer did the same with Nice (goes to Riga "instead") - his entry here has ofc home crowd reasons

Happy to see Edrian Celestino :) from poutine to the Philippines ;) (Canadian skating for the Philippines)

I hope he is better prepared than in the last year or so... and that he acquired his 3axel and /or 4toe he was working on pre-covid...

3 Canadian women in seniors.. finally Skate Canada is realizing they better prepare the future...

Just to let you know, Ryan is indeed doing the streaming again this year.

The streams for the first 2 days of the event are already sitting there on his YouTube channel waiting to spring into life on Wednesday and Thursday.

Can't wait!

OMG. Not “the” Ryan, creator of lonelyicemeister.com.

If it’s the same guy, it doesn’t matter who is skating, I’m there for it. Ryan alone makes it worth the watch/listen.

Will his colleague the Post-It Man also be returning?

I think there's something wonky with the schedule above (or it's incomplete)
I'll try to bring it together here:

11th
SP Women (11 a.m.)
RD IceDance (4.45 p.m.)
SP Pairs (7.30 p.m.)
SP Men (8.30 p.m.)

12th
FP Women (11.45 a.m.)
FP Pairs (6.15 p.m.)
FP Men (7.45 p.m.)

13th (be aware, in case you look into their pdf, there's a typo and it says "Sunday, 14th" :rolleye: fix your post-its!)
FD IceDance (12 a.m.)
GALA (4.30 p.m.)

these time here are from their timeschedule pdf from 5 days ago, don't know when they did the flyer.
but those times only vary by 15 mins, we will hopefully know soon what's correct.

One thing that's odd Is neither Junior pairs nor junior dance shows on the ticket schedule. I think last year, they ran junior and Seniors back to back in those events?

The Gala is on a separate ticket, so the time is kind of moot. I wish they had published some kind of schedule via the ISU.

Yep, the one and the same.

Although, it does seem surreal that a guy from Yorkshire is doing the streaming of a Challenger event in Austria on the same weekend that the Senior GP Series is in Yorkshire.

He is entertaining, and he does a really good job with the streaming. So, I'll be watching as much of the event as I can too!

Plus, one of my kids is making her season debut at this event, and I am curious to know what form she is in ahead of her Senior GP debut a couple of weeks later.

Will we disappointed if we don't see post-in person? Maybe they should go also to this system which was in Volvo Open Cup when skaters were waiting their scores:

w0D1jqPXyDboV_2_Y5kRfrzJi-Ldt4AMJRNogzSsXn_cZAkM8K1EnBBgL6cH8haubbkaqXXBDKwOIbCtRVoiqCdew8KsewO1TBMvoEGyv3Gm4lW6Kg7eh1hKkH1gNd3sQTigh6bSvQX4e2vNrXkR17qLsrtGVIpqlkASxNsttCWeynFWA_7uWx_k2S4ZRg

Many of us liked this. They just need the bigger version of notes and people with good hand-writing and quick writers. Maybe it would be good idea to ask the post-it publisher company to sponsor this event?

To be serious, would there be a real score box? Does the guy who is streaming have something to say to it?
