Dear Members. During the first day of competitions at the Olympics we have noticed that many posters are completely forgetting that these are competition threads, as for actual skaters competing. They are not threads to express with whom you have an axe to grind, to express your political opinions, your issues about doping allegations, any issues you may have with certain countries or people, your opinion about cheating or not, disparaging comments about people experiencing mental health issues, and/or any xenophobic or homophobic opinions you wish to express. Such posts are contrary to forum guidelines in general but are especially off putting in competition threads. Please focus on what is happening on the ice.

Posts which contain such sentiments derail the thread and take the joy out of taking part in these threads for other posters who join in to enjoy the experience of watching a Figure Skating competition with like minded posters. The moderators are free to delete all such posts without warning, and will do so if this continues.

Wasn't Levandi supposed to represent Estonia? Did something happened to him?

Absolutely horrible luck on Vincent's part. I dearly hope if he is positive, no one else has caught it from him (not his fault if that happens- germs spread, athletes are all in the same vicinity, etc). How devastating it must be to get to the Olympics only to have a positive test right before the main event. I can't imagine what he must be thinking right now! :(

No. Aleksandr Selevko is the reigning national champ, and he got an Olympic spot for his country at Worlds.
They just gave Europeans to Levandi.
Ok, thanks! Levandi had the best cumulative scores over few chosen competitions, and that's why he got Europeans and I thought the same went for Olympics. Super glad for my cactus to make it though! Will be cheering for him hard <3

Still hoping Zhou can make it with a negative, but it puts a cloud over the event. At least Messing made it….

Oh no :( Such bad news for the competitors :(

Sorry to ask this as I have not been as present as I would like to be, but could anyone give me a tip on where to watch the full competiotion online, available for Europe? It is not on TV in my country (shame!) and I am trying to find ways....

The Olympic criteria set by Estonian Fed was that those who won the berth at 2021 Worlds (Selevko and Kiibus) would go to Olympics as long as they finished in top 2 in that ranking based on cumulative scores of two 2021 Challengers.
