Skater #5 finished her programme VERY early, and was standing in her finishing position for ages waiting for the music to finish. It must have been a good 20 seconds!

Despite getting 1.50 points in deductions, she took the lead. And she still holds the lead going into the second group.

That was awkward.

Believe it or not, she won the Silver Medal!

And she was only 0.86 points behind the winner. So, if she had got her timing right, she would have won the Gold Medal!

Now this is a coincidence. It was only a few days ago that I found out that "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" was actually a cover of a Spanish song called "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás".

And now this competition opens with Alina PETRENKO (EST) skating to "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás" being performed by a female singer!

I enjoyed it.

She goes into the lead, obviously.

I have no idea what this music is that skater #2, Austeja SIMAITYTE (LTU), is skating to. But I loved it!!!

The Viktoria Sinitsina style white nightie didn't exactly go with the music, though.

We come back from the resurfacing to complete our Beginner Young quadruple-bill, and the Interclub part of the event, with a combined competition. It was supposed to be two groups containing 6 middle girls; followed by a group containing 6 middle girls and 1 boy. But Skater #7 has withdrawn, so we now have 5 girls in Group 2 and 17 girls altogether.

That resurfacing marked the end of the Interclub part of the event. The rest of the day will be the Elements part of the event.

Since there are no more resurfacings and I don't want to be going overboard with reminder posts, the best approach would probably be to do combined posts for each age group (the competition running order is arranged by age group, and then by level).

That was so cute. The first wee girl did her moves, and when she was finished, a pile of teddy bears were thrown onto the ice. And she didn't know what to do! She looked at them, and then looked at her coach, and then went to gather them up.
