Just to point it out again after I corrected my previous post, I am nearly sure that Skater #2 is the sister of Skater #10 from the Cubs B 2013 competition earlier today. They were sitting together again there now, and they still look like they could be twins!

When Skater #16 went to get her results, as well as her coach, she had the Basic Novice boy whose music I commented about liking sitting with her.

And when I looked up his name and worked out that he is her brother, I finally realised that Lithuanian surnames have male and female forms.

Yet another thing I have learnt through watching figure skating.

That was diferent. But good.

Skater #10 was dressed in what I can only describe as a Santa Claus dress, and skating to "Lollipop" by The Chordettes.

She went into 2nd position.

And I am not even going to attempt to describe anything about Skater #11's programme. It it is impossible to describe it adequately!

Suffice to say, there was a bit of everything in there! (And probably more than everything too! )

She now takes over 2nd position.

And I just noticed - with 1 to go, the Top 5 are covered by less than 1 point!

The rest of the day is all Adult Ladies skating. And it consists of two combined competitions. The first group is for the Bronze ladies, and contains 2 Bronze II ladies; 1 Bronze III lady; and 3 Bronze I ladies.

Awwww!!!!! The first Adult skater, Olga SHIROKOVA (LTU), is skating to "Don't Speak" by No Doubt.

I loved that song when I was growing up.

That said, this girl doesn't look old enough to remember the song the first time around!

And this isn't the last you'll see of Olga. She will be back in about an hour from now for the Artistic Bronze Ladies FS.

In fact, she is the first and the last of the Adult skaters to skate.

Wow! The Bronze III skater, Laila FEDINA (LAT), could pass for a movie star from the classic age of cinema.

Judging by the cheers when she was introduced, I take it that the first of the Bronze I skaters, Aiste DUKSIENE (LTU), is from the local club.

In fact, now that I notice, all the Bronze I skaters are Lithuanian.

The second skater, Inga DARGINAVICIENE (LTU), got a similar number of cheers when she finished.

I never thought to pay attention to the coaches. So, I can't tell if she was from the same club.

Massive fall for Julija NAZIMOVA (LTU), the last of the Bronze I skaters. But she got up as if nothing had happened.

And then another fall shortly afterwards that was just as big. And again straight back to it.

The third fall was just a small gentle one.

Well, I think we all know that she will be last. But, she will still get a medal. And boys but she deserves it!

And to end the day, we have the second of our Adult Ladies combined competitions. This group contains 1 Silver I lady; 2 Gold I ladies; 1 Gold II lady; and 1 Artistic Bronze ladiy.

There was a slight delay before the first skater. I couldn't make out all of what the announcer said, but it sounded like there was something electric on the ice.

Well, whatever it was, it wasn't too long before the first skater, Inga LABUTYTE-ATKOCAITIENE (LTU), got going.

And not only has she got a very long name, but she is very tall. I would love to know what height she actually is, because I am sure she would be right up there on the tall skaters list.

Mmmmm. For her second programme of the night, Olga SHIROKOVA (LTU) was skating to "This Is Halloween" from "The Nightmare Before Christmas".

Unfortunately, it was a nightmare.

First of all, she had to wait a long time for her music to start. She had got into position, crouched down on the ice, and she looked up a couple of times wondering what was going on.

I don't know if this unsettled her, but nothing seemed to go right after that. Admittedly, some of the stumbles could be interpreted as her being in character. But, that's a risky approach to take when you are being scored on what you do.

But, I absolutely loved her costume. And I have no idea how she managed to get her makeup and everything done in the hour between her first programme and her second.

She deserves some extra points for effort!

Our Beginner Young quadruple-bill consists of 15 younger girls; followed by 6 older girls; followed by 18 middle girls; followed by 1 boy. The 15 younger girls are arranged into a group of 7; followed by a group of 8.
