I recently watched Alexander Abt's 2003 NHK SP (Russian Sailor Dance from the Red Poppy, a.k.a The Red Flower ballet). As I understand it, the ballet is very much identified with the Soviet regime and hasn't really been performed and/or recorded much in recent decades. Which is too bad, because there are some lovely sections in it, and in terms of skating, it hasn't been done to death. I think someone should follow Abt's lead and use parts of it in a program.

Also, it's hardly original, but Rhapsody in Blue would really suit Tomas Verner. He should just stay away from the famous part - you know, the bit from the United Airlines commercials - and he'll be fine.
