Ah thank you for the info! I was just wondering since many skaters do have a good physique that can be featured in those types of magazines. It's just weird that not a lot of skaters are getting offered to do so. Any publicity is good publicity even if I don't agree with it most of the time. It's also odd since figure skating is also known for its costumes.

And woah, it's awesome for Yulia to get that chance! I hope we'll see the soft and charming side of hers!

Of all the Russians I'd think Anna would be the most fitting to do fashion spreads. She has the look of model and very defined facial structure perfect for it:yes:

A couple more I remembered:

Maxim Trankov for Esquire Russia - I think he would make a great full-time model, actually. http://wtfhemsworth.tumblr.com/post/76151102894/knigolubka-maxim-trankov-looking-pissed-for

Evgeni Plushenko for InStyle Man Russia - he's done lots of fashion shoots over the years. http://andyfiordproduction.ru/set/production/instyle-man-winter-2014/

I definitely think we'll see more of the young Russian women getting offers in the future.

Oh yes! Anna definitely! For me, she has this 'Nicole-Kidman air' around her. She can look fierce and passionate when she's on and then sweet when she's done her job and ready to chill. And heeey, don't count out Yulia yet! She has this certain sparkle in her eyes that a lot of people will (and continue to) fall for!

And oh goodness with Gracie's cover! I wished they picked a different picture for her. It just doesn't show Gracie's...erm...qualities? The cover is too unnatural and artificial for her (and for me). :disapp:

Elena Ilinykh would make a beautiful model! She has such lovely cheekbones and a great smile.

The funny thing about Yuna, for this man, is that while I find her very attractive I don't find her beauty exceptional, by world class standards anyway. However that all goes out the window when she is on the ice; I don't know anyone more beautiful then she when there. I guess when she is an athlete performing her real beauty comes through to the point that I believe leaves many a man sighing (or panting).

Miki looks great but..... poor Mao; the next page over. She looks game but it looks like she is carrying a big chicken on her belly. I am sorry but I had to laugh.

Lol. Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking! A big chicken that got run over.

I have tried to stay out of this topic because I dislike Vogue but omg.

What did they do to Yuna's angelic feature? How can they make her look that gloomy and awkward? And Mao? How can they make her wear such thing?
I mean both are pretty girls but Vogue's editors need some serious help.

Miki looks great and it's understandable, she has the feature of Vogue's typical models. High cheekbone and angular face.

Mao and Yuna, on the other hand, have "girly face" and Vogue's style does bit suit them at all.

I agree that Miki looks splendid.

But sheesh, Mao's outfit makes me think of that swan dress that Bjork wore to the Academy Awards that time--didn't she carry an egg with her or something? Sometimes concept art seems a lot better in the planning phase than it turns out to be once it's executed....

And I'm not sure about YuNa's cover photo, either, but at least she isn't gussied up in some strange outfit.

Oh. Wow. I was feeling sorry for Yuna, but after seeing Mao's pic, I think they let Yuna off easy. I think this ranks somewhere in the top ten worst fashions of all time. Why the heck did Mao--or anyone on her team--allow them to dress her like that!? Seriously, these girls are way too nice.

Miki looks lovely. But after seeing Mao's pic, I wonder if they originally wanted Miki to wear the chicken shirt too, except she said no. So they (thankfully) decided to just use the fluff for a different shirt.

Speaking of Vogue, back in 2002 Vogue editor Anna Wintour actually brought her daughters to a Champions on Ice show and took a backstage pic with Michelle, Irina and Sarah lol

it's a bit of an off-topic question but I'll ask anyway. Has any skater been featured in fashion magazines like Vogue (any country) and etc.?

I remember Kwan being mentioned in Vogue several times but not in a fashion spread.

Here are a few of the other shoots she's done for fashion mags though (from Heather's site):

^Lovely pictures of Michelle. She's simply stunning. Note to whoever dressed Mao in that chicken: Look at the Elle, Glamour, Instyle photos of Michelle. This is how you style a beauty.

Btw, I love the description in Glamour: Kind and graceful, but a warrior on the ice.

I still don't like the cover photo, but I found these two images probably from the rest of the Vogue shoot.

Same fashion style, less somber.
Yes, those are from Vouge

The official edition still not released, but some photos leaked (fans not patient enough to wait for HD photo, we are all crazy, lol)

Those are all much better. Not her usually kind of angelic photo but I like them. They simply picked the worst pic in all for the cover. Why Vouge, why?

The inside photos are all great. I agree, they chose the wrong photo for the cover. I wish they had chosen this instead: http://www.wikitree.co.kr/webdata/editor/201405/19/img_20140519123050_dc2a6140.jpg
