I like the choreo, but the jumps were off, unfortunately. I don't know enough about technique. Was he not balanced enough on take-off?

Maybe he's still getting used to balancing MIT and skating. Hopefully it will get better as the season goes on.

Wow, skating and MIT? Impressive. The announcer said he was from Boston, so I've got a new hometown skater to cheer for :big grin: (Technically my hometown is Nashville but we don't really have any local skaters i can root for so I'm using my current town of Boston as my skating hometown)

Nashville eh! I went to college in Bowling Green, Ky., so just an hour away; I went to Nashville a lot for concerts and things. My "second" home town is Louisville, Ky. (I spent the first half in the Philadelphia area; I live in the Pacific Northwest now).

You'll enjoy his blog, he has lots of fun stuff about MIT and Boston life: http://kevinshum.com/blog/

OMG

IT IS

He's skating to Pearl Harbor. Just wondering what his outfit has to do with that music? It doesn't make any sense...whatsoever. It looks like he wandered into the forest in a white chiffon blouse and it got ripped and covered in dirt and moss. I really don't know.

I like how tactful the announcer is. He basically says, without being mean, that he's just doing the jumps and needs to work on performing.

Nashville's a great city, I really miss it, although Boston's pretty good as well. Thanks for the blog link, I'll definitely check it out!

I was confused by that choreo at times. For example, why was he just starting a spin at the start of the dramatic, martial sequence?

Samarin's costume is awful. I want to burn it. And he also bored me.

Yup. Not my favorite. This commentator also loves Samarin.

Also, I'm getting really sick of hearing "Want To Want Me" after every single skater. Get a new song now, for goodness sake! They've played that after the last four skaters!
