quick question: if a skater does a jump very well in the air, but his/her landing is a swing landing, etc, can they still get a positive geo on that jump

Depends on who the skater is... *cough*reputationaljudging*cough*

But seriously, the GOE guidelines do give some leeway and room for interpretation... so it depends, and different judges might have a slightly different view what is a forgivable landing flaw in an otherwise nice jump and what is not (e.g. SLIGHTLY 2footed landings on a otherwise good jump sometimes seem to produce a GOE spread from -2 to +2)
