Another skater mom and I were talking earlier this week and we really don't know the differences between the levels - especially intermediate, novice, and to a lesser extent junior. They seem to have blended.
Juv - tops at at 2A
Intermediate - this used for "beginner" triples. Now you see all the triples and 3-2 combinations are somewhat common.
Novice - this used to be the first level where you might see all the triples. Now you see all the triples and 3-2 combo is the norm.
Junior - this used to be the intro of all the triple combinations. 3-2 are expected to place well.
We were thinking that Intermediates should be limited to only certain triples - kinda like Preliminaries are limited to certain doubles.
Then at Novice, all the triples can be done. Maybe limit combinations to 3-2.
Then at Junior, allow the 3-3. I believe they currently have an extra jumping pass over Novices so skaters need more stamina to do well.
