Anyway my girls all in the last group, je suis contente
1 skater - top ten.Does she need top ten or top twelve? Yikes. It will be tough for her. The skaters in her group and the last group are solid and she has two Americans and Nina and Inga behind…..
Oops, but still less than a pointNo, it's 0.7
1 skater - top ten.
No. They were already not participating last season.So. Worst. Maybe, cause three skaters from a certain country were missing
Hard but not impossible if she skates the way she did at Nationals.
That will be hard. Cause the top 6 are locks. She basically has to squeeze and take one of four spots from the rest of the 18 skaters.
Oh right! I forgot. Was Shin the technical controller? I have a feeling he is the real difference makerNo. They were already not participating last season.
It was a bit harsh but then she had an edge call a q and a <... i don't really have a problem with the -5 when they get all the alphabet soup of calls on an element.Wow! They killed Kimmy and Kaiya on the triple triple combos. The -5 across the board for Kaiya was like she fell….
This was a great comp....Anyway my girls all in the last group, je suis contente
well.. it's just a 1 point or so difference for the cut off compared to last year... the women who skated well got very good scores... I don't think it can be entirely explained by the presence of 50% of the TP.Oh right! I forgot. Was Shin the technical controller? I have a feeling he is the real difference maker
True… the combo had the entire red marks on it. I could barely read what combo she executed. It was a bit harsh but then she had an edge call a q and a <... i don't really have a problem with the -5 when they get all the alphabet soup of calls on an element.
He wasn't. He definitely plays a major part in why the scores are a bit lower here, but scoring has in general been a bit more conservative in this post-Olympic season (thinking back to the JGPF).Oh right! I forgot. Was Shin the technical controller? I have a feeling he is the real difference maker
The cut-off score is a little above 3 points lower than last season. In scenarios with strict technical panels, some skaters will always be affected more (i.e. those that usually get away with underrotations, edge issues, ...), while some will not be affected much at all.well.. it's just a 1 point or so difference for the cut off compared to last year... the women who skated well got very good scores... Yup. She was a good sport and stayed on the stands for the whole program. She got an avocado too.... Is that yours @lariko
I wanted to eat my avocado today.. but you know ... when they turn brown before ripening... epic fail...
yeah... correct. there were a lot of reviews according to Ted, so calls were made, and many were double checked... In any case, as I said, I prefer someone who is strict and consistent across the 47 skaters... which is what I feel we got tonight... top skaters were dinged when they didn't rotate fully just as much as the first few skaters.... sometimes we see some calls earlier on and suddenly, by the last couple flights, everyone skates "clean" as a whistle... That, I don't like I think judging on day 1 was pretty consistent and fair. The cut-off score is a little above 3 points lower than last season. How much influence the technical specialist (Shin Amato in this case) has might be surprising to some. The TS is responsible for real-time calls and reviews are only done when the assistant technical specialist disagrees with the calls, at which point TS, ATS and technical controller become involved in the decision-making (majority rule decides the calls after the review). So, unless there's a disagreement, the calls are under the full discretion of the technical specialist alone.
