"Today Anya came out on the ice for first time after the injury," Gleykhengauz said on the phone. "We are very happy about her return and she will calmly recovering, without forcing the events."
"It's too early to talk about competitions and timing (of the first start, after the injury, of Shcherbakova )," the expert said.

She may manage to get ready to the Russian Juniors in late January, but I doubt it. Having in mind seriousness of the injury and how delicate she is, it's better for her not to rush things and think about next season really. Anya has immense potential, worth preserving at all costs.

Leonova4gold! But seriously it will be quite interesting to see how Maria fares against Gaby and how Alina fares against Evgenya, and how Alena fares against Dasha and Eusoon.

No, although in the past they were the same, now these are two separate names: Alena (dimunitive Alenka) and Elena (diminutive Lena, Lenka)
I wouldn't call Lenka a diminutive, it is in fact somewhat pejorative. Lenochka, Lenok - these can qualify as diminutives. But really the girls will be called Alena (it is pronounced Alyona) and Lena, respectively. Alyona won't be called Lena as it is reserved for Elena.
