And it's a shame because look at the length of their careers. Classy elegance. You can't go wrong with it.
 when will we see classic elegance like this again? Both P/T and K/S are likely to retire after this season. I hope they will coach and create more elegant pairs like them.

This is why I want both of these teams, P/T and K/S, on the World Podium along with Eric and Megan, whom I admire greatly as skaters and people despite not being a fan of their style.

Agree! This result gives me faith in judging, actually. Despite the lack of SBS triples, their overall quality is so exquisite that they deserve a medal. I'd have had them over Peng and Zhang, actually. That was a PERFORMANCE. and everything they did, they did with such ease, sweeping, flowing lyricism, and passion!

I have to agree with this. None of their errors marred the performance for me. From the beginning to end they sold it.

Under 6.0 they would have been held back even more on the Artistic score. This was clearly slated for P/T to be ahead of them... I'm just surprised P/Z managed to stay ahead of P/T, considering their botched SBS jumping passes/fall.

It sucks though.. S/H do just about everything harder than P/T and honestly deserved silver, IMO.
But 6.0 prizes clean performances, as well as technical difficulty. I don't think the judges would ignore that. (Btw, S/H's LP is hands-down my least favourite program among the Chinese pairs, but execution has to worth something). Let's see what got invalidated via COP rules...

P/Z and P/T both messed up the SBS jumps. The quad twist (and likely higher lift GOEs) made the difference. Maybe P/T would place ahead under 6.0 due to the lack of a fall, but in this case I'd actually disagree with the judging, especially if we consider the SP as well.

I have to see what happened with the video replay, but that would be awful if S/H lost a medal because their pairs spin of all things was invalidated. :drama:

I'm a big fan of the difference between fashion and style. Fashion goes out of style; but style is always in fashion. Eventually we'll see classic elegance again. It's too good to go out of style. :)

A level 1 death spiral for S/H, as well -- their pair combination spin didn't look too differently from the rest of the competitions, but the entrance seemed a little awkward so perhaps it was there?

So many 0 GOE (and low GOE overall) for Denney/Frazier's last lift -- what? That lift is the best and goes so well with the epic ending of the music! Although the camera did focus in really hard, so maybe something went wrong with Brandon's footwork.

Why are you so sure that Tran was willing to partner with her? I don't remember him ever saying so.

The impression they gave to the public is that it was a mutual decision not to become partners. Not that M-T turned down Tran.

And as tulosai already said, they are friends. A personality clash was not the issue.

My interpretation has always been that they just didn't click skating together. It happens, and it's not a slight on anyone's ability or judgment. In pairs, you need so much trust that it needs to feel comfortable to skate together.

I think the death spiral was a level 1 because she didn't get low enough in her arch to the ice (I noticed that as they were doing it but didn't think the judges would be so harsh).

Wow, the tech specialist really laid into S/H... no wonder we were all confused about their plummeting TES score.

Look at everyone's scores. The judges were all over the place with their GOE. :bang:

The highest death spiral level I see in protocols is level 3 -- most teams actually got level 1 or 2, so it seems like the caller was especially harsh on those.
