I want badly Ziegler and Kiefer to win their first CS event. This season they have improved a lot and in each ISU competitions they have participated so far (two GP events and CS Finlandia Trophy) they terminated just outside the podium. They won the Minsk-Arena Ice Star, but that event lacked strong pairs.

I totally agree with Mohacz. I like them more every season and I'll keep my fingers crossed that they can clinch the gold here.

- edit-

Kayne/O'Shea in second so far. Come on, Z/K! There's a window of opportunity!

I have a feeling that the team that lands the first clean SBS jumps will win this competition.

:eek:topic: I just saw a video uploaded by Brau Avita, I mean Abdulio Ramirez, on the 'recommended videos' section! The hero has returned :yahoo:

Edit: Checked the results, apparently the first Italian team didn't have a fall (started watching when Kayne/O'Shea started), so never mind what I said above. I'm not in the best condition here.

Ooh, Z/K look like they just might win this.

Great job, Miriam and Severin. They will surely lead.
BTW, for a CS event I can hardly see public. That's a pity.

EDIT: 66.08 and the first place. I don't think any of the two remaining pairs skates better, but we'll have to wait until the end :)
I'm curious about the second American pair. I thought they had retired, but here they are.

Edit2: Oh, I've just looked for some info regarding Jessica Calalang and after last season she and Zach Sidhu split (he retired due to a chronic injury). Brian Johnson is her new partner. I think I'll start a fan thread for them.

Ziegler and Kiefer have the best quality of the pairs here. With that big lead they should win as long as they hold it together enough in the free.

Calalang and Johnson are second with 60.37. Great job and I think it's their first competition this season.
Pairs competition at US Nationals will be really interesting.

Great job and I think it's their first competition this season.

I thought they'd been somewhere before when I noticed that she's got a new partner. I wouldn't know otherwise. But I can't remember what it was.

They were on the list of the Alpen Trophy, but did not appear. I think that's the reason we have them here.

They competed at Autumn Classic in Canada. This wasn't their best skate, I was surprised it scored 60, not that it is a huge number. But good for them, they got pretty good levels.

Other than doubling the Salchow, Calalang & Johnson got some really good levels for a brand new pair

Kudos especially for getting level 4 on the back outside death spiral!
Ziegler & Kiefer got level 3, the rest got level 2 or less.

C&J were also the only team that got a level 3 on the triple twist.
only got level1 on the triple two
