Thinking about RD next year I am a bit worried about p/c. I feel like their RDs are always a huge hit or miss and my favorites of theirs have been more classical pieces such as their tango and waltz. They could choose some musical or opera that is very within their style but I think they would get a lot of backlash. I would like to see them skate to a more powerful and deep piece of music (with words plz) rather than some sort of happy musical like LLL of greatest showman.

Hmm, the Pattern Dance Type Step Sequence must be skated to one of the following Rhythms: Quickstep, Blues, March, Polka or Foxtrot. Maybe investigate musicals from the 20s-40s. Lots of possibilities.

I also think this will suit Chock/Bates, Piper & Paul, and Hawayek & Baker - they do so well with Austin Powers exhibition. It may also work for McNamara /Carpenter.

Also, Guignard/Fabbri could have a great, dynamic RD next season if continue competing

The tech controller is like the supervisor of the specialists, and provides the final word if the specialists are in disagreeance.
Since there isn't really a team out there to properly rival Papadakis and Cizeron at this time, I'm not too bothered by this.

Yes, but in ice dance, from this season, one specialist is assigned to judge levels of male partners and the other one levels of ladies, so disagreement is possible only on a few elements, who have one general level for both dancers. Controller, or any of the specialist can call for a review if they are not sure in what they saw in a real time.

but given everyone can call for a review and technical controller can ask for corrections of the initial calls, in every element there could potentially be a disagreement between TS and ATS at one point. For example, technical specialist call twizzles for women and say "Lady level 4", controller ask for a review thinking it may be a level 3, then the assistant technical specialist should express his view to break the deadlock.

if the controler see something differently than yes of course, they can change the initial decision. but also in most of the cases its not about the voting for the one of two different decisions, on a review is quite obvious what level should be applied. the point is to call for the review in first place

Why only 2 Italian teams (with 2 alternates)? Don't they have 3 spots?

Don't know. They do have three spots. They aren't using them. But they have two subs listed. My only hypothesis would be if they are concerned that using the three spots could somehow ultimately cost them the second spot for next year? What is the required points/placements rule again for qualifying for two berths if you send three competitors?

There's no different between 3 and 2 entries for earning spots. With 3, they just count the best two.

Tessari / Fioretti were 14th at Euros; of the 13 teams that finished above them 10 are going to Worlds. Then add in 3 US and 3 Canadian teams, which leaves them potentially in 17th place. Even a great finish by Guignard / Fabbri couldn't hold onto 3 spots for next year, and the possibility is if they sent a third team this year, it might not make it out of the RD. So why go to the expense of sending a third team if it isn't going to be an ongoing thing?
