Oh right, I just realized Reykjavik is in a different time zone so they are 1 hour behind us and the advanced novies ladies won´t start before in 30 minutes time.

Day 2 of the Reykjavik International Games is about to start. But, unlike yesterday, the action in Reykjavik does clash with the action in Egna today. So, since you can't pause or wind back the Egna stream, and since yesterday's stream got zapped by a copyright claim, I will be concentrating on it.

Livestream for the Junior Ladies SP is now on air.

You know, this is the first season that I have really seen Robyn. So, I can't really judge how she is doing compared to previous seasons. But, this was definitely the best I've seen from her this season.

Yes, she had a fall. But, that was the only blip - the rest of the programme was good. And, let's face it, just having the one fall is a vast improvement on earlier in the season, when she was having real meltdowns.

She goes into 2nd (out of 2) with a score of 33.56.

BUT, if Rink Results' records for her are complete, this is actually her second highest SP score ever. And her highest since before the pandemic.

So, I think this performance is something to celebrate.

:cheer: WELL DONE ROBYN!!! :cheer:

And now that the Juniors have finished their Shorts, it is time to start into the Senior Shorts. Starting with the Senior Man. (I really do not understand why they didn't just have a combined Warm-Up for both Ed and Lauri)

Livestream for the Senior Men's SP is now on air.

And now we have the Senior Ladies. Yes, I'm writing in the plural again. There is a grand total of 3 skaters in this segment.

We just had a resurfacing in Egna, so I took the opportunity to go back and watch the Condon sisters.

Both of them had their problems. Dracy had a few stumbles, while Adare had a fall. But, on the whole, I agree with Adare being ahead of Dracy going into the Free.

Given that there was only 1 skater going in between them, I was a bit disappointed that Dracy didn't stick around. There were plenty of times yesterday when a skater waiting for their scores was joined by one of their team-mates.

It was nice seeing some messages supporting them on the chat. I take it that the mention of Carrick-on-Suir means that their family is originally from County Tipperary. That's a long way from me in County Tyrone. (Sorry, I had to!)

Looking forward to seeing what their Free Skate programmes are like.

Now that's a first. When the Norwegian girl that is finishing Group 2 started her programme, the stream went silent. And we got a graphic come up saying "The stream has been muted for copyright".

Well, at least the organisers are aware that music copyright is a killer for streams, and are doing something pro-active to ensure that the stream does get archived.

Still a disgrace that it happens, though.

By the way, the Dutch girl is currently leading. And the Norwegian girl that had the bright orange dress I was talking about is only a couple of points behind her. But then there is a massive gap to the rest of the field.

It'll be interesting to see if any of the skaters in this final group can get up with them.

By the way. Skater #15 has withdrawn. I didn't catch the name, but I think the Norwegian girl that is opening this group was the only skater left that wasn't from the Reykjavik club.

Hi Organizer here...when music is handed in the day before the competition it is not enough time to get clearance through youtube. Sadly nothing to do about it

Just wound back, and I recognised the skaters on the podium. It was the Basic Novice Ladies.

Which reminds me that I wanted to ask about something that was puzzling me about the results table from that FS segment.

Why have the Top 3 skaters got a "B" in the normally blank column between the TES column and the PCS column?

At first I thought it was because they were all foreigners (a Dutch skater and 2 Norwegians). But, the 2 Norwegians further down the table don't have a "B" in their rows, so that is clearly not the answer.

Then I thought it might be that they had achieved a Best score. But, it seems suspicious that it was only the Top 3 that did. And, anyway, if this was the case, why not add an extra letter to show whether it was a Season's Best or a Personal Best.

Or, is it simply a way of showing that these are the skaters that will be on the podium receiving medals.

So, does anybody know?

Just watching the podium ceremony, and all of the skaters that finished in the Top 8 were brought out and given medals!

But, it made you smile the way the announcer was struggling with some of the club names.

See, it's not just British commentators that struggle to pronounce names correctly.

She is Irish actually

Ah, I didn't realise that you were involved with organising this.

Well, can I just take the opportunity to say that you guys have been doing a great job. I really enjoyed watching yesterday. And it's just a pity that the Engna livestreams not getting archived mean that I am not able to watch today.

YouTube is without doubt the most user-friendly streaming site, but the copyright claims make it the most frustrating if you want to watch back after the stream has ended. But, at least you are taking measures to ensure that your livestreams don't get zapped.

It's a pity more streamers don't do this.

A thing I was wondering when I saw these measures being taken. How do you know in advance what songs will cause problems? Is it just from past experience from other skaters using the same song?

Thank you for confirming what @norwegianfairytale guessed.

Over the years, I often wondered why there was an empty column in between TES and PCS. Now I know why!

I actually thought it was just there for decoration, or to space things out a bit. But, now we know that it does actually have a purpose.

She is Irish actually

That explains everything! ;) We are experts at saying things our own way.

In all seriousness, now that I know this, I have to take my hat off to her. I haven't heard the Icelandic language much, but to me she sounded so natural whenever she was saying the name of the Reykjavik club. I would never have guessed that she wasn't a native speaker.

So, well done!!! :cheer:  :points:

When they hand in their music our streaming service sends a copy of the file to youtube for pre approval. Sometimes they get returned with a red mark and then we are obliged to disconnect or they will close your access. It is fixable but only if deadlines are respected which gives us enough time to react.

I will convey the compliment, she is also fluent in Icelandic. We have another speaker from Australia who has been -in training- and is doing really well.

Thank you guys for watching. We are happy and tired up here.o_O
