It is verry likely a contributing factor. Joshi said in an interview that her goal for this season was olympics and when she realised that wasnt going to happen she decided to quit. If the top 8 criteria was the reason or if it was just that she has been beaten by Matilda and Anita in several competitions this and last year i dont know. (it is not unlikely that there is a similar reason for Isabelle Olsson quitting, apart from her injuries)
