2017 GP Skate America Free Dance

If V/M do skip the GPF it would mean the first confrontation for both teams will be at the Olympics! Can you imagine the battle? It would get even more epic that it already is.

On one hand, Tessa and Scott already have that one GPF gold medal so they might not care about another one, they came back for the Olympics and Olympics only. On the other hand, they would lose the valuable feedback from the judges regarding performing head to head with P/C. For that reason alone I believe they will go, eventually. If they want to change the FD they might skip the Nationals (can they do that?) or 4CC. UNLESS it's something MAJOR, like getting a new FD altogether.

I've noticed the high PCS for everyone. Maybe they know how harsh that Tech Panel is so they balanced it out C/L got 36.86 it's... huge (for them - sorry fans).

Actually that's a possibility. The technical scores are getting squeezed so maybe the judges are compensating with generous PCSs. Two (or 9) can play this game! Is Mr. Wonderful still the technical specialist for the free dance or are they flipping the assistant to TS? I would hope his actions would be discussed at the post dance meeting.

But since some calls are correct you can't do much... the real issue is with C/L's pattern they didn't get one key-point right, they really didn't understand and actually they skated better than in NHK.
And yes, still the TS for the free.

Even though it's not my favourite FD of theirs I hope Piper and Paul get it together in the FD and move up.

Level 4s everywhere for everyone ! And especially clean skate for Shibs to try their best to definitely lock themselves into the podium at GPF and Olys, and to C/L to do everything they can to get to the GPF.

Ice Dance is the best discipline. Enjoy everyone !

Sooo... I don't know if this this means anything at all and take it with a grain of salt but Kurt Browning (who would know V/M quite well after all the SOI stuff they've done together over the years) doesn't think "one of the top two dance teams" will go to the GPF. I'm wondering, if this is true, if V/M are doing either some major rejigging or are, in fact, changing their FD.

Just food for thought.

Also, I did not know this but apparently Ashley Wagner said she might not go to the GPF if she qualifies.

Could be that skaters care about comparing scores across different competitions after all, even people say otherwise. And they are worried about the reception of their program.

Or that they are putting Scott through some intense cardio period to slim him down. Lol.
