So sorry to be the bearer of bad news about Anna and Radek, CaroLiza_fan!
Sadly, there are more splits to report:
Laura Barquero and Tòn Cónsul, Spanish Pairs Champions have split according to the Spanish Fed: https://www.fedhielo.com/la-pareja-laura-barquero-ton-consul-separa-su-camino/
The article doesn't provide details but says that the Fed will 'work to find solutions to the dissolution of the couple' (Google Translated from Spanish, so may not be accurate) so I'm assuming they might both be looking for new partners?
They had only been together 1 season and finished 14th at Europeans 2020. Wishing them both all the best in the future.

Francesca Righi and Aleksei Dubrovin, Italian Junior Ice Dancers (National Champs 2018/19, National Bronze Medalists 2019/20, 13th at JWC 2019) have also split according to her Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CB3CvQZJkiT/ They had been together for 5 years. She wishes him all the best, and says that she won't quit skating, so I assume she will be looking for another partner. It's not clear what he will do next. Best of luck to them both in the future.
Like Radek, Tòn was looking promising when he was competing in Singles. So, now that the three skaters that have been the stalwarts of Spanish Senior Men's skating for the past decade have seemingly all retired (Javier Fernández, Javier Raya and Felipe Montoya), might he return to Singles?
In case anybody is interested, here is the record of how Tòn got on against the skaters that are currently competing in Senior Men:
…
Although it looks like I arranged the skaters in alphabetical order, they are actually arranged in order of age – Héctor was born in 1997; Tòn was born in 1998; and Aleix was born in 1999.
Héctor was the 2018 Senior Men's Champion, while Aleix was the 2019 Senior Men's Champion.
So, Tòn and the guys still doing Singles were pretty well matched in the head-to-head.
Whether that would still be the case after Tòn had 3 seasons away in Pairs is another matter…

Is it just me or has the number of splits and retirements surpassed Olympic season levels?
Maybe the early/prolonged season break and unpredictable upcoming season (if there is any) is killing people's motivation...
I'm beginning to think that COVID is being very dangerous for figure skating teams, in ways not studied by medicine...

I wonder if it is a case that being stuck halfway across the world during a global pandemic has made Vadym realise that he misses home, and being with his family.
This can't be an easy time for mixed nationality teams that were at their training base when lockdowns were brought in. And from his previous Instagram post, Vadym is actually in Novi at the moment rather than back home in Kharkov.
Of the teams that have split in recent weeks, the following are mixed nationality:
- Val (ESP) / Colmor Jepsen (DEN)
- Righi (ITA) / Dubrovin (RUS)
- Nguyễn (USA) / Kolesnik (UKR)
And even in the cases of the teams where both partners are the same nationality, the skaters are from different parts of the country:
- Dušková (Central Bohemia) /Jakubka (North Bohemia)
- Barquero (Castile) / Cónsul (Catalunya)
So, the issues of being separated (either from their families or from each other, depending on where they are) could apply to them too.
Of course, we know that Anna's ongoing injury issues are the main reason the Czech skaters split. But, the lockdown could have expediated her decision to call it a day.
Anyway, this is just a thought that I had.
