She skated worse in senior nationals.

Eh, not really for the SP... there's inflation at both events but she was suppressed a bit compared to the senior skaters in the SP at senior nationals

Fedichkina should be first. As much as I like Sotskova, she was really overscored.
And who's the handsome bloke next to Nugumanova and Lozko?
.....speaking of which....GO NUGU!!!!
Lozko has UR at second jump in combo.

Fedichkina, Nugumanova, Konstantinova were very good.

As for me - only Tsurskaya's 1st place is obvious.
Places 2 to 5 - may be changed in any order.

All the girls are good, unfortunately many mistakes.

Tomorrow's LP should be interesting to see who gets silver and bronze (I'm assuming Tsurskaya will maintain her consistency).

At the risk of jumping the gun, it looks really good at this point for Fedichkina to go to Junior Worlds especially as Nugumanova isn't age-eligible.
Suppose we have a situation where Tsurskaya, Sotskova, Fedichkina, Konstantinova, Nugumanova end up in the top 5 spots in that order... wonder if Konstantinova might get a shot at Youth Olympics if either Tsurskaya / Sotskova opts to focus on Junior Worlds instead?
Pity for Sima... had been hoping that she would really get her act together at Junior Nats to fight for a JW and / or YOG berth but it looks highly unlikely, sadly.

Even if Alisa is off the podium here, she may still get to Junior Worlds. Lots of these ladies are not age eligible, I remember the year Lena, Julia, and Anna swept the JWC podium, Lena didn't even compete at Junior Nationals and Julia and Anna finished like 4th and 6th, but because the girls ahead of them were too young to go, they made the JW team anyways.

Alisa had a good international season this fall and she beat Sima handily in the FS at senior nationals, I think that she is likely to make it to Junior Worlds if she can hold it together reasonably well in the FS. She's already 5 points ahead of Sima and Sima's scores this season haven't been that high even when she does skate well, so I tend to think barring a meltdown, Alisa is likely to make the JW team. I like Sima too, but her chances of replicating her silver medal at the last two JWCs is pretty small this season so maybe it's better for her to take some time to adjust to her new coaching situation and gear up for next season. She got a pretty good score at the Challenger event in Warsaw, so I think she can compete on the senior GP next season, at least one event, as her score will probably stay in the top 24. Plus due to the age restrictions, Sotskova is the only other lady likely to move up to seniors internationally next season, so I think there's room for Sima.

No.
Elena was 1st at JrNats-2013.
After her were not-age-eligible Sakhanovich, Sotskova, Medvedeva.
5th was Lipniskaia.
6th was Pogorilaya.

Elena did not compete at JrNats-2014, but she was reigning JrWorld Champion and SrNats medalist (a month before JrNats). Because of this she had a spot to JrWorlds-2014.

Thanks for clarification. But basically the point I was trying to make is that the placement among the age-eligible skaters is really what matters here, so Alisa doesn't need to worry about someone like Nugumanova or Gubanova beating her since they are too young to compete at JWC and YOG anyways.

I still cannot say that I enjoy Polina's skating. But she is the clear leader here. And she is much faster now than at the beginning of the seasonn.

Perhaps due to the choreography? I love her huge and clean jumps but not her programs this season. I hope she can work with choreographers to make her strength stand out.

I love Stanislava Konstantinova's dramatic SP. She pushed Russian drama school to a new level and the good thing is she seems to be so genuine in her performance.

Are Nugumanova and Gubanova of the same age? I feel Nugumanova has more room to grow and Gubanova looked a little worn-out and worked too hard for her age. Gubanova's jumps look more labored, and she is not a stick figure at this age. So it really depends on how she grows in the next year or two.

Nugumanova's edge jumps are so good but the toe jumps still seem a bit sketchy, 3f looked better here though. Will be interesting to see who fares better on the JGP next season - Nugumanova or Gubanova. At this point, Gubanova is more of a jumping powerhouse but Nugumanova is ahead on the presentation side of things. I think all the shows she's done has really helped her sparkle on the ice!

From what I see and what I heard, the real strength of Gubanova is the super skating skill which Nugumanova seems to lack. That SS will probably help Gubanova when she grows but Nugumanova... I don't know. She can dance but she needs to skate imo.

People might find Polina lacking in expression, but I like her reserved, quiet strength. If she can get a good choreography which highlights the power she has, she won’t need to add much acting because her jumps and athleticism are so dramatic and dynamic in itself. Well, if someone can jump and move like Polina and act like Stanislava that'll be a dream for me though  (Not saying that Stanislava can't move... her lutz is huge!)

Interesting...to me, Gubanova is the one who lacks expression, and I can't remember a thing about her programs once they end. Maybe she'll change my mind someday, but now? Nugumanova is about 100x more enjoyable to watch for me. She's one of the most radiant, natural performers I've ever seen. But I also like Polina & think her expression is fine, although her main strength is definitely the jumps. Stanislava also is impressive. Hard to believe she came in dead last at last year's junior nats!
