As someone who had a lot of professors who aren't native English speakers, yes, grammar>>>>>>pronunciation. You don't need to sound much like a native English speaker to be understood by most people.
As an amusing aside about that, one of those professors went to graduate school close to the area I'm originally from, and he had traces of the obscure regional accent in with his thick (insert native country here) accent. It was hilariously adorable to hear someone with a foreign accent pronounce certain words the same way I do after not having heard anyone outside my family pronounce them that way since I moved away from my hometown.
