I quite enjoyed Julia and Damian's SD. That music didn't make me want to hit the mute button. Low score, those pesky levels!

Lots of potential in that program, especially from the lift through to the end. But they have got to get those falls under control :(

H/D - I liked choreo and music. Her dress must go - just does not suit her at all.

Madison and Zach:luv17: I was worried when the scores took so long to come up but HURRAY! That is a great start to the season. And I like her dress, it is a beautiful color and looks like a club dress not a costume.

Kaitlin fell on one of the twizzles. I shouted "no!" at my computer screen.:sad4:

Hawayek and Baker's SD was very strong...and then the fall. You could see she entered into the first twizzle tenatively but made it through ok but then disaster (fall with the second).

I honestly found Smart/Diaz much better. I don't understand the crappy result. Can someone explain it to me? Thanks!

Was surprised to see Smart/Diaz so low so thanks for the explanation semosk8tfan.

I was sad for H/B. :-( they are hard luck kids.

H/D didn't look great to me. Maybe it will grow on me.

Because Olivia's skates were off the ice for too long during their choreographical spinning move (required element), it became a rotational lift (that got 0 points) and the actual lift later on in the program became an invalid extra element (0 points, -1 point deduction). So, they lost TWO elements because of one little error.

For more detailed explanation, see discussion in their fan thread: http://goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?60020-Olivia-Smart-amp-Adria-Diaz/page2

Choreographical spinning moves or any other choreographical moves (twizzles or lifts) are not a required element in SD. They are required moves only in FD. In SD they are only a part of choreography and don't get any technical points. So, actually Smart/Diaz lost one element (their lift) and got a 1 point deduction (for an invalid element).

Oh yeah, you're right! Thanks for pointing that out.
