Amanda Peterson / Stephano Valentino Schuster
Country: Germany
Music: La La Land (soundtrack) by Justin Hurwit
Choreography by: Maria Tumanovskaia-Chaika
Costumes: Yellow dress with sparkles for her, black pants with sheer olive green shirt with black trim for him

Program Layout:
I had a hard time identifying their elements. It's a bit a blur; the elements dont' stand out

NT Step Seq.
Step Seq in hold (circular)
Chor Spin
Twizles - out of sync
Combo Dance Spin
Straight Line lift
Curve Lift
Chor Twizzles

I'm missing a step seq here, because it all seemed to blur together! Oy me! I'm working on it.

ETA: I added in the circular step seq above. But really German team, you need cleaner elements to make them stand out.

It's all very nice, but nothing here really stood out. Their RD is more distinctive.

Score: 71.43 (39.96 TES, 31.40 PCS)

Yeah that was pretty awesome!

And there's another one!

Oh I just realised this is The Greatest Showman, I haven't seen it, but I guess the music cut makes sense then.

Wow, those lifts! Love their costumes, too. And they did well with both parts of the music.

Country : Belarus
Music:
Choreography by:
Costumes: Pink sequined dress for her; black pants, ruffled white shirt, red 18th c style jacket with trim for him

Program Layout:

Twizzles - nice but last set balance check.
NT Step Seq
Step Seq in Hold (circular)
Chor Spin
Curve Lift
Dance Spin - the eggbeater last position always strikes me as strange in dance, but that's just me
Rotational lift
Chor. Rotational lift -- with a VERY odd position

The music is just a strange mishmash. Not sure the heavy dance beats work with their costumes. A bit of an eggbeater of a dance for me. Or what happens when you use an eggbeater to construct a program! Though I suspect I will enjoy it more as the season progresses. Those lifts certainly are eye catching. But I'd change at least HIS costume. It's too much of a Holy Cognitive Dissonance Batman thing.

I had the same problem with youtube but now it's fine.

At first I thought the Belarussian ice dancers were going to skate to the Nutcracker because the costumes reminded me of it  The Greatest Showman is the new warhorse, but I would say the music is quite enjoyable and rhythmic.

He has WONDERFUL posture. But man they are slow slow slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. They are interesting to watch--they hold my interest, but they desperately need SPEED.

It's a fun program.

Thank you cathlen. It's trickier than I thought! Those judges should share those lists of planned elements with the rest of us BEFORE the event starts. Hmpf! I'll fix things afterward and we'll forget my screwups ever happened. LOL!

Gah! I have an Aunt Peggy. I must have been thinking of her! Sorry Penny. Love ya. Glad to see you and Nick choreographing. It's a good program--it held my attention.

And I'm still agog at how all the Germans choreography blurred together so many of the elements so that nothing really stood out. Need to watch them again.

Ouch, that must've hurt.

Choreography by: Mylene Girard
Costumes: lilac dress with sparkles for her (it's the color of the day for the women), basic clack with sparkles for him

Program Layout:

Gah! The first minute of that program was so captivating I stopped looking for elements... But here goes...

ST Seq in hold (serpentine)
Twizzles - meh entrance but nicely done
NT Step Seq.
Rotational Lift - fell Whoops
Dance Spin - missed the entry. Whoops
St Line Lift - a bit sloppy entrance, good position though
Chor Spin
Ch Lift- nicely done

They have POTENTIAL GALORE. I think they're so well matched. Hey, it's early days and it happens.

Good lord they even made me forget how blah that music is.

Keep an eye on these two. Both eyes.
