So what are people's predictions? This is my guess, I somehow think we'll see something very different though...

1. Shevchenko Eremenko
2. Ushakova Nekrasov
3. Lajoie Lagha
4. Nguyen Kolesnik
5. Khudaiberdieva Nazarov
6. Green Green

my JGPF predictions were so so off, that I really have no clue here. I'd like to see Lajoie/Lagha on the podium, because I think it'll be their last JWorlds and I really like their programmes this year. I think the odds of S/E beating U/N are pretty good, given what has happened the last couple of times they've competed against eachother. I'm also pretty curious to see what'll happen between the US teams, I think that N/K will need to be foot perfect if they want to beat the Greens.

Also intrigued to see where Fear/Waddell will slot in.

My statistical doubt tells me, that it may be Ushakova/Nekrasov time to win. Their Balkan theme FD can be found more enjoyable in Balcan capital  . I prefer Lijo though. Lajoie/Lagha, I expect them to be more strong than the JGPs, and maybe they will upset the silver?

JGPF scores for Shevchenko & Eremenko and Ushakova & Nekrasov from the JGPF were 0.01 apart.
Battle for the bronze there between Khudaberdieva & Nazarov and Lajoie & Lagha was 0.03 apart.
Nguyen & Kolesnik and the Greens split results at U.S. Junior Nationals.
Nguyen & Kolesnik finished 5th at the JGPF yet defeated Shevchenko & Eremenko at JGP Slovenia.

Conclusion: There's really no room for a mistake. Think there's some depth all the way down through the 12th spot. Best wishes to everybody!

I definitely agree with your conclusion. But I do think it's slightly more cut-and-dry than the results of the GPF seem to suggest. The gap between S/E and U/N widened from 0.01 at JGPF to 4+ points at Junior RusNats. I know Nats scoring is not an accurate reflection, but there was an opportunity for a direct comparison. I also think that S/E have made so many noticeable improvements this season (see their RD at Slovenia and their RD at Junior RusNats) that I feel like, barring any major mistakes, they are the favourites.

K/N vs L/L vs N/K vs potentially G/G is much harder to call for bronze, as I think N/K will want to fight for the podium after a slightly disappointing finish at JGPF, and L/L will want to improve on last season. If there is going to be a surprise upset for silver, my gut would say it'll be L/L.

Can you tell I'm excited for this event? More than senior worlds dance

Best of luck to all dancers!!! :cheer:

I don't necessarily agree. Ushakova & Nekrasov have had the more steady season. They split dances with S&E at the JGPF (which was a direct comparison). They are young enough to stay in juniors so it is to Russia's advantage to support Shevchenko & Eremenko this season, but if you look at the breakdown in scores from the JGPF, only 2 judges actually placed S&E first in the RD vs. 5 that placed Ushakova & Nekrasov first.

http://skatingscores.com/2019/jgpf/dance/short/

And then 5 placed Ushakova & Nekrasov first in the FD, which they won, vs. 4 for Shevchenko & Eremenko.

http://skatingscores.com/2019/jgpf/dance/long/

So the JGPF was a breakthrough win for S&E but not anywhere near cut & dry. Remember that Shevchenko & Eremenko defeated Ushakova & Nekrasov at last year's JGPF and Russian Junior Nationals also; but U&N placed higher at Junior Worlds.

Personally, I like S&E's RD the best; but I think U&N have a great FD.

As far as the other four teams go, K&N were the fastest at the JGPF, and they grabbed their own share of top-2 place marks from the judges there. They are relatively tall & have good lines. L&L definitely left some points on the table at the JGPF and also grabbed some top-2 place marks there. They have better material than last year, I think. I feel that N&K have a beautiful FD this season--one of my favorites--and her performance ability is special. Speedwise, though, they had a deficit. The Greens, I haven't seen live since last season; and I've never seen them up against the international teams. I remember thinking they had height & speed despite her age even three years ago, though. Think they are still developing as performers; but they could/can be a force in the RD because they almost always get the pattern.

I will unfortunately be gone on Wednesday and Thursday for a family obligation. So if someone could do the PBP for the RD, I would really appreciate it and I'm sure everyone else here will too.

I'm just grateful that the ISU is smart enough to make the competition available AFTER the event, unlike their utter stupidity (and record company stupidity and greed) regarding videos of Senior IDs.

Are you sure we be able to do this? I am hoping because I will probably be working and/or sleeping; but Junior Worlds has been geoblocked in the U.S. on the regular ISU channel before, though maybe it was available last season? Ice Network used to carry it so I've always watched it there. NBC Sports Gold isn't carrying it. Hopefully this means it will not be geoblocked and that it will be available via the live stream on the official website. But how do you know it will be available after the event? Or are you just talking about in Canada?

I suspect it will because the ISU made a concerted effort this year to make the juniors available to as wide an audience as possible on the internet. For one thing, it's highly doubtful that any major network in any country would bid for the rights, and also because they are making a (very wise) investment in the future: make them fans when the team is young and hopefully they'll become fans for the lifespan of the skater/couple. Just my take on it. Of course I could be completely wrong and corporate/association greed might rule the day.
