The 2022 Jégvirág Cup will take place Feb 11-13, 2022, in Miskolc, Hungary, at the Miskolc Ice Hall. The event will feature the Singles disciplines (Women and Men) and Ice Dance disciplines in the Novice, Junior and Senior categories and will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2021, the Special Regulations & Technical Rules Single & Pair Skating and Ice Dance 2021, and the relevant ISU Communications.

This will be next weekend. I don't recognize the most of the skaters, but the final chance for Finnish juniors to increase they scores before JWC team is announced. Janna and Iida, who both are announced to be there are very close in scores. Makar S. is in safe to get the spot, I think, but Mathias Lindfors may still want to get the TES minimums. No time schedule yet.

Mmmm. Disappointed that they didn't show the Podium Cermonies that were to be held during the dinner break.

Anyway, back to the action. And we have a Junior double-bill, with the boys up followed by the girls. However, rather than having the resurfacing between the two segments, we have the two groups of Men (3+4); then the first group of 5 Ladies; then the resurfacing; and then the remaining 3 groups of Ladies (5+5+5)

I'll do a separate post for the Ladies at the start of their segment.

That resurfacing marks a move to the first Ice Dance competitions of the week. Now, this is tricky for me, because we have all of today's Ice Dance segments back-to-back, with no resurfacings. One post would be too complicated. So, what I will do is to have a post for both PD1's; then another for the Junior SD; then another for both PD2's; then a final post for the Senior SD.

Ah, there has been a withdrawal. Partnership #2 Sofiya LUKINSKAYA / Danil PAK (KAZ) have disappeared from the livescoring page. So my kids are on earlier than I expected!

Sorry Jason, you'll have to wait a few minutes to finish your Olympic FS!

My other kid that is competing this weekend scored an absolute PB in Ljubljana earlier on today. So, my hopes are high for my kids that are here.

What can I say? Angelina and Ilia were great as usual.

The only thing I did notice was that they got slightly out of sync during both sets of Twizzles near the end. But, apart from that, it looked flawless to me.

They score 56.59 points, and go into the lead, 24.95 points ahead of Petra CSIKÓS / Patrik CSIKÓS (HUN).

I was surprised to find that that is actually their lowest score of the season. Which might explain why there wasn't much of a reaction to the scores. They had pretty downbeat expressions the whole time they were sitting on the bench.

But, as I said, they looked great to me!
