I don't even know what to say. I guess quads are hard and yay Ilya and congrats to the gold!!! His layout with the three different quads saved him even with the falls.
Very sad for Rukhin though, it would have been such a redemption story.

If only Kolya hadn't lost his spin in the sp or repeated another jump other than the lutz he would have won gold here even without a 3A at 12

Exactly my thoughts. Incredible talent, I hope his health and nerves withstand the pressure and the physical load in the future.

Though of course the others were a complete mess today which helped him to nearly win.
