I think C/B have the superior program and they skated it extremely well, but H/D have them on the edges and power. It is noticeable when you're in the arena. At nationals H/D had a couple bobbles so losing the RD there made sense.
This. This is the difference between the two teams in a nutshell. Having seen both live, whenever they are similar in terms of mistakes or lack thereof, H/D will prevail because of their power and depth of edge

Maddie Hubbell and Madison Chock have the best smoldering looks while performing, even though they are a different style. Maddie has that look that says fierce and sexy, Madison’s look says sexy, sultry and everyone knows it. Then we have Gaby who has that I might not be smoldering but I am the best and you love it. 😀

Is there reason given? I was looking forward to seeing them in FD. May it was lack of time preparation as well...
Just saw WD by their names in the ISU Free Dance starting orders

I imagine they are just overwhelmed by a flood of emotions. Having delivered their message, they now need time to grieve and to find a way to help those at home.

For what it is worth, I think FB/S will overtake F/G in the freeskate.
Perhaps. I just don't think it's fair to all athletes when they have to fight for their spot because of bias judging.
I usually don't care too much.. but I guess I had the naïve impression that these worlds would be cleaner... I should put the word naïve in bold and in larger font... :) perhaps make it with rainbow colours... and 🦄

And downplayed Canadian teams....
Hmm. I know there are so many good teams but Canada seem to get the "worst" scenario for each of their three teams. Nothing against spain but the Danadians easily could have been placed a head. GP could have been higher at least point wise and LaLa got no favours. There is still the long but the judges seem to b going to Britain and Spain and Italy and any body but LaLa who could have been challenging for 10th but instead are way out of thee first groups. But rightfully France is first and th Americans on the podium. Canada is too far behind to medal now. I am happy for Ms. Reed bing in th top ten but I forgot that there are some missig top teams. USA is fairly marked including HB but es mabe it is a fluke but all three Canadians got the short end of the stick.

All along, some have commented how the Canadians were dropped this time around... Euro-centric tech panel, no Canadian judge on this either. Surprising?

OMG.....Fact!!!! The dance results have basically gone to form as this was the same order they were in at the Olympics. The Free Dance should be interesting as I bet Chock and Bates are looking to flip the switch on their order of placement.

Yes I agree with this having seen them both live today without any errors. I prefer C/B over H/D but H/D deserved the high marks they got because they have more power and depth of the edge. They really sold the performance today.

Laurence had a bobble on the twizzles so I think their mark was fair. L/L were great but the performance was just missing a little something. As I said before the Taschlers were great and so were the Finns - and LaLa are one of my favourite teams. Obviously it doesn’t help not having a Canadian judge to help lift up their scores like other teams have but I genuinely thought the marks were fair for what everyone put out on the ice and I think audience felt the same way as there were no astonished reactions at the scoring.

i don't know ;) i love the Taschlers too. I didn't enjoy the finns more than LALA. I didn't notice Lolo's bubble. Was everyone else so perfect? Piper and Paul got a S call (separation) but that alone doesn't explain a 4 point gap with the Italians whose Jackson's program is nothing near to what a Jackson program should be. British judge put F/G in 4th place... yes... 4th place !!!! and downplayed the Canadian teams...

There are certainly things that can be explained on the ice... and I bet we could fine small mistakes to other teams too :) but it seems to me, and I am fine if it's due to my canadian skating fan paranoia kicking in today (probably triggered by yesterday's pairs results), that canadians paid a very heavy price today...

I don´t get the anti-Canadian conspiracy talk. :shrug:L/L had major level issues. G/P had mistakes on their pattern and lacked sharpness (plus their RD didn´t impress any panel so far this season). Always crying conspiracy doesn´t help anybody to develop.

To be fair, I obviously couldn’t see the tech box so I can’t comment on the calls they made but in terms of performance on the ice I think the scores were fair. The Finns and LaLa were pretty much even I would say with maybe the Finns taking the slight edge - I think it might be more to do with LaLa’s programme composition rather than their performance itself, as it did seem to lag a little in the middle. As for P/P they just didn’t seem as sharp as the others. It felt like they were pushing against the programme rather than flowing with it if that makes sense. I did see Piper yawning while the last group was waiting to come onto the ice and did think to myself, that’s not a good sign! I don’t know if they were 4 points worse that G/F but I would have had them in 5th place. I think G/F come across much better in person than on the TV as their RD was very good. I totally get your point though - cause all judges inflate their teams’ scores, so not having a judge on the panel won’t have helped the Canadians’ scores. Laurence wobbled and lost her arm movement a bit during the second twizzle I think - it was noticeable as they didn’t get the cheer from the crowd after the twizzles in the same way that teams with no mistakes did. F/G didn’t have any obvious mistakes so I think it’s fair they are ahead but def not in 4th place like the Brit judge had them!!
