Even though we have the new GOE system, I decided to go back to my old method of sorting the participants by absolute PB’s first, as there were a lot of Juniors that I was not sure where they may fit in compared to the regulars in the Senior field. And I wish I hadn’t, as a skater I have liked for a very long time ended up at the very bottom of the Ladies list (Leonova – the only Ladies skater in this field not to have broken the 200 point barrier).

I know she is only here because Tuktamysheva is in hospital, but I have taken a risk and put Vasilieva in my Top 5. Although her absolute PB is nearly 3 years old, it is actually the 5th highest absolute PB of the field. So, given that many people will overlook her because she is a replacement, I have decided to take a chance on her.

The only person I dropped out of the Top 10 is Nugumanova, because her absolute PB is very old, and she has not been getting anywhere near it since (or even before it!) The rest, I re-arranged.

In the Men, although I don’t believe he should be here, I still put Kolyada on the podium. And although I usually put him down the order out of pure jealousy, I actually promoted Lazukin this time. For the simple reason that I want to give Liza reason to be happy!

I was running out of time by the time I got to Pairs and Dance, so I only made changes to the first few on the list.

It's a third segment in some Russian competitions where they perform a jump combo, a solo jump, a spin, and a step sequence and get only a technical score. This raises the scores of those competitions. I say this because Vika usually doesn't get that much love, so I'd be surprised if they actually gave her nice, high scores (which I think she deserves)

I had totally forgotten about those 3 segment competitions. And I shouldn't have, because they have proved to be a nightmare for me when doing results tables in Fan Fests.

Right, I will have to be more aware of that in the future.
